That is some of the best flying weather. Sunny blue sky and absolutely no wind. That does not happen often but when it does it is magical. The plane performs so good the air is dense and cold and everything works well especially the engine.

Six @IFLYJR let me fly his 35% Hangar9 extra the other day at the field. First time flying anything bigger than 30%. Needless to say I was hooked. Now I'm thinking of what I can sell to fund a bigger bird and have Ben looking at the options out there. Even found plans for an old 36% Staudacher S-300 that I think with a few tweaks could be turned into a modern design. Just the problem of a cowl and canopy though.

The Hanger 9 35% Extra 260 flies beautifully with a DA100 with cans on it (if balanced out correctly). I have one and that is one smooth flying classy bird. The DA 100 on it runs like a sewing machine. Why H9 discontinued this bird is questionable.

I know there were a lot of problems with wings on this particular model and they sent out many replacement sets. Maybe that is why they discontinued it. I have a spare set for mine because the originals were replaced.

I am the second owner of the plane and they gave me the extra wings when I bought it from them. H9 put a repair bulletin on the wings and it is relatively simple to do the repair. I had thought about selling it because I rarely fly it and already have another 35%er (EF 104 Extra), but I don't mind having two 35% birds. They fit right in my trailer :big-grin:

Went to the Fly Yuma airshow this weekend at the Yuma Aeromodelers club to go hang out with buddies and get some much needed stick time in. Colton Clark and Kevin Garland were also present and we gave them quite a show. To my surprise there were probably close to 2000 spectators in attendance so it was a treat to show off for them and talk to a bunch of them after the show was over.

Once the crowd thinned out it was open flying time and I went through a gallon of gas on my 91" Aerobeez Slick in the remaining few hours until the sun set :oblong:

Got to wiggle some sticks Saturday. 5 more flights on the Red LX and 2 flights on the 61" 330LT. I rebalanced the LT with my Xicoy scale and ended up moving the battery back 1 1/2"!! What a difference in how the plane flies. Now inverted flight requires very little up elevator and the snaps are unbelievable! There is also very little coupling in knife edge flight now. I can see some down low knife edge passes in the near future :)

Yeah in person it echoes even more than you can hear in the video. I plan to fly back there a bunch more though as I can tell it will hone my reflexs quick. The flat spins towards the beginning was the tightest one I have ever done with that plane.
