Retracts would be bad a's. S.

Well @dhal22 i did it about 10 years back. In the picture is a Delta I scratch built from my own drawings and it has BVM retractable gear. It is the most difficult and complicated build I have done to date. Spent 8 months doing the drawings and then one winter cutting and making parts and the connection system for the 2 wing ends, then the next winter assembling it finishing it. It is glassed and then Stits painted. It is over 3000 square inches and comes in at 21 lbs. and let me tel with gear up and both motors at full tilt across the deck it is something to be hold.

Damn I'm hungry
Finalized construction of a plane carrier/hold down/wall storage bracket for my Alien Extra fuse. The 24" flat bungee is perfect for keeping just the right amount of tension on the carbon fiber LG so it wont spread away from the metal brackets. Velcro straps the tailwheel in place. Constructed from 1/2"x2" treated yard / fence lumber. Will also use this lumber to trim around my new work table. It will have a 3/8" lip all the way around so I can lay in 32"x72"x1/2" piece of sheet rock. The table top itself is 5/8" BC pine with 1/8" press board glued to it.

Yes I still have it flew for a couple of seasons. But getting it starte Was so difficult and dangerous and after just nicking myself with the prop once it got put away. It will fly again but with 2 -30cc electric motors.
