Here are some close up pictures of the front with both props. The 3 blade I posted up a few posts for my teaser.

Have any of you tried one of these Mejzlik SLF props? I am dead serious when I say this. I stood about 6 feet behind the engine and prop while my Buddy ran up the throttle. I had to lean into the prop blast to keep from being blown back. . . . . .

Hey @WMcNabb , I ordered my spinners from Falcon, they will be here next week. The only color they had in the 3 blade in the size I wanted was "natural" carbon fiber color. I think it will look awesome with the CF prop and landing gear. The 2 blade spinner I bought was white carbon fiber. I'm thinking about painting a couple of thin red lines near the base and tip of the spinner to mimic the red pin stripes on the fuse. I think it would look cool. . . . . :big_yes:.

You know what the most amazing thing about my day today was? Before I left my Buddy's house I asked him how much I owed him for all of his hard work and materials. He wouldn't take one red cent. No matter how hard I tried, he kept refusing to take anything.

Oh, I almost forgot. I have a deadline for my maiden flight of the Yak. It will fly at our clubs Scale Fly-In on the first Saturday in September. . . . . :dancing-chicken:

The 29x10 doesn't look quite as daunting on the engine with the plane fully assembled, but it is still ALLOT of prop. . . . . :big_yes:.

I must say both props look really good on your Yak 55! And the fully assembled photos are simply awesome!! Really happy for you David! Can’t wait to see it in the air!

Great looking plane it’s all done now. Nice to see that the 3W is installed and ready to go. All the beast with the maiden.

Thanks for the kind words fellas, I really appreciate it. . . .:big_yes:.

She's not quite done yet. I still have to fix a servo mount in one wing, patch a few switch holes in the fuse and finish installing the radio gear. I'm going to the flying field for a while this morning and then work on it some more this afternoon. I'll post an update this evening. . . :yesss:.

Well,

I spent a little more time at the field today than I thought I would so I didn't get much work done on my Yak this afternoon. I did get some Bling added to my Yak in the form of my White Rose wheels and they dressed it up quite a bit. I also took a minute to lift the tail until the plane stood level and measured how much clearance I have between the bottom of my 29x10 and the floor. I have about an inch and a half so it SHOULD be good to go. If I change my mind later, I still have the set of larger wheels I bought way back when I bought my AMR Stick kit I can use. I think they are an inch larger than the ones on the Yak now. Sorry I don't have any pictures this evening but I totally forgot to take any. . . . :(.

Well,

The good old USPS dropped off a box for me this morning from Falcon props. he both look great and either one will work just fine on the Yak.

The best thing about these spinners, other than their quality, is how incredibly light they are. The heaviest thing in either box was the sweet little tool Falcon sends with the spinners to remove and install the screws in the side of the spinner. I will definitely be using Falcon spinners again, if the need ever arises. I wanted to rush home and try them on the plane, but I quickly remembered I need to drill the backplates to match the props.. . . . . . ;).

Good evening Gents,

I have made a little progress on my Yak in that the servo mount in the wing has been fixed, so that's one more thing crossed off the list. Unfortunately, as it sometimes happens, I forgot to take any pictures. . . . . :ugh:.

I do have a question I'd like to run by you Fellas. Since this is my first true giant sale plane, it is the first time I've had a spinner that is screwed into the side of the backplate in lieu of the usual bolt through the tip of the spinner into the end of crankshaft. Both spinners are also cut for each prop. I believe this tells me that I will have to use the prop as a guide to drill the backplates so I keep the prop blades centered in the spinner openings. I can use my drill jig to keep the prop and backplate centered, but what do you guys use to hold the prop to the backplate to keep it from moving while you try to drill the first hole in the backplate? Would something like two sided tape work well enough or do you guys have any better ideas?

Thanks Gent's
