Yeah, definitely could have designed them more inboard and just made longer fittings.
The manual has you grind them off.

Attached the bulkhead fittings with a little locktite. Added bulkhead supports, landing gear block, servo mount supports along with drilling, tapping, and wicking some thin CA into the servo thread holes.

MMW provides three options for engine mounts, DLE20 pre-cut beam mount, uncut Beam mount, and a electric motor box. It’s a little unique as the 20cc gas engine is sorta recessed inside the box slightly. I’m guessing this has to do a lot with CG, but either way it’s different than what I’m used to seeing.
I went with the DLE20cc mount as it’s universal to other brands as well (VVRC20).

Used wood glue on one side, CA on the other.


Using the bulkhead as a guide to glue in the doubler.

Door liners. Mine were double laser cut, so the fit could have been a little better.

Nice work. It really shows that this plane was designed from the ground up in 3D cad, and not cut and hack job from an old drawing.
Now if we can only convince him to in large it to DA 35 size.

I wish I had time to build a kit., but I AM NOT complaining. I'm glad I'm still able to work in this crazy world we are living in at this moment. . . .

Got the motor box epoxied in place on the floor panel. Everything fit together well.

Do not glue blkhd #1in.... the pictures show it in, but you cannot slide the fuse skins in to place with the bulkhead glued. I’m going to have to hack it out a bit and improvise. I cannot stress enough to read the manual. Also read the electric box construction as it had important details omitted in the gas box assembly.

On MMW blog on the website there is an addendum to the early kits where the tailwheel steering tube holes in the bulkhead are too small. Sure doesn’t leave a lot of material!

Planning on a 60cc version some time in the future. I've already scaled up the outer shell in the CAD appropriately. Works out to exactly 50% bigger than the 20cc version.

Thanks for all the heads up. That will save others some headaches down the road.
