    We got rained out yesterday. According to the weather guessers there was 0% chance of rain, so of course it rained all day. Pretty nice today, and tomorrow , but a little thing like a job gets in the way.

    I got out to the field and flew the Hangar 9 Extra 300x last Sunday and it was an awesome weather day. Low 70's, sunny, and almost no wind. We have maybe two Sundays like that a year and I try to take advantage of them. It was good to get out again! I hadn't flown since January.

    I take the stabs off my 35% Extra to make it easier to get in and out of the house and easier to store. All my other planes stay on.

    On my Carf I epoxied a blind nut in the tube, and on the Krill I used a hardwood dowel that I drilled and tapped, then CA'd the threads and retapped.

    The screw through the tube works fine, but it's easier to get a tight fit with tabs and bolts through the end rib.

    I agree, and that isn't just my dislike of the sound of stock mufflers talking. I saw that come into play with DA85's. A can or a tuned pipe seemed to work wonders taming the vibrations.     I'm not sure what they can use on an airplane now days, but in the automotive world you can still buy "Aircraft" Paint Remover, and if you get it on your skin, you will know it.:(
