    VVRC 40 Twin Props

Got a break in the weather yesterday to test out this baby in the air! For anyone that has a VVRC 40 on their 78" Extra (or anything else) and ever wanted to quiet it down, the 2 into 1 finally exists and works great with any medium canister! Here's a quickie video of it in action:

    VVRC 40 Twin Props

Here's a little "how-to" on my header/canister install on the 78" Extreme Flight Extra. We had sold off the 40 twin that I had been running all season so I'm breaking in a new 40 twin with the rear dump canister on a 20x8. Turning about 7100 (on the ground) with both stock muffs and the canister...

    VVRC 40 Twin Props

Regarding weight, here we go... Stock exhaust: 4oz. Header with clamps, coupler, and medium mount for either pipe or canister: 6.1oz. Pinnacle medium canister: 9.2oz ProFlow small pipe: 9.6oz Soooo, a basic 2 in 1 header/canister/necessary mounting hardware will be 11.3 oz or 11.7oz...

    VVRC 40 Twin Props

Hmm, I'll look at it tomorrow. It's whatever Dave sent me 6 or so months ago. Haven't weighed anything as the dramatic increase in power will easily outweigh the little weight a pipe and mount will add.

    VVRC 40 Twin Props

Not my "department" but when they do get them online, my guess will be only around $50 for the header and another $6 for the coupler and clamps. Haven't heard about drop spacers yet though but can't imagine they'll be more than a couple bucks.

    VVRC 40 Twin Props

Had a guy ask somewhere else so here's the graphic that explains the drop. It is 25mm from the flange to the top of the exit (would be 37.5mm to center of the exit.) Bolted up the ProFlow small smooth pipe and was stoked to see how much more power I got out of the little 40! Picked up about...

    VVRC 40 Twin Props

Engines are back but backorders and wait list are being fulfilled before the difference goes online. Customer service should have it all finalized this week but in the meantime I'll be doing the final assembly and initial runs ALL WEEK... BTW the 2 in 1 headers are here, couplers and clamps...

    STOLEN in WA State!!

Thanks guys, still absorbing what happened but life goes on! Even if it gets recovered what kind of shape is it gonna be in. Trying to imagine what the conversation is like between the tweakers as they are trying to figure out what to do with a 10 ft fuselage with no wings? Expecting an...

    STOLEN in WA State!!

DIRTY ROTTEN SCUMBAG ALERT!!! One of our trailers was broken into last night and several things were stolen. They got the fuselage without the wings and stabs from the 126" Slick as well as several chargers, gas cans, and spare props. The 42% AW was damaged as they were trying to get it out of...

    3D 3dhs 108 extra build thread

My Red/White/Blue delivers tomorrow!!  Bolted up the DLE120 I took off my slick (before I dabbled in GP) to the bench and got her dialed in and ready!  Prop, spinner, servos, RX, batts, pilot and more ready to go, just need my plane now!!!

    3D 3dhs 108 extra build thread

Those GP's are strong but I think you'll need a little more engine than that... I'm planning on Savox 1270's on 2s lipos again as they're pretty damn tough to beat for the money.

    UNsub'd there, SUB'd here now that I know it's here!! I'm going red/white/blue with a DLE120 on mine! Can't wait...

    Gp-123

It is considerably less likely, but at Valley View there's a pile of sample engines from many different manufacturers you've heard of (and even more you haven't) that suggests otherwise... :p Part of the endurance testing that new brands/engines get before we get behind them!

It can do both... Inadequate airflow will not only overheat an engine it can "mysteriously" snuff out on engine on takeoff that was running flawlessly on the ground... (has to do with pressurizing a cowl) A cowled/baffled engine that properly manages airflow will often drop temps by 50+...

Get some fuel through it and it'll pick up as you go. Are you running it with the cowl off or buttoned up and ready as it does affect performanc whether anyone wants to admit it or not...

    Gp-123

My 123 with a 29x9 is easily 68-6900 on the ground. 6700 on the first run but that number is long gone. On the first one we tested on our Aeroworks Edge, it's a solid 6900-7000 cold...

    Gp-61

I ran the GP pitts muffler on my 91"Yak and it was awesome. Sounded like a tuned pipe and still turned serious rpm's with no weird throttle curve necessary. I was also running the Falcon 24x9 cf and turning an honest 68-6900 rpm on the ground by the 3rd (final) flight before my midair...
