Thanks, I reckon I will use the spray paint I have on hand then. I was thinking you may have been using something that you didn't have to worry about an accelerant in. Stay tuned for a new and improved UMX Timber in the coming days.

@Wild man what type of paint have you been using on your UMX planes? Got my umx timber masked off and ready for paint just trying to decide what paint to use.

Photo of where I got on the fuse today. Tomorrow I will try to finish up the hatch tomorrow then I can start filling in all the sticks in the tail. Also was happy to see when I put my wheel on the scale that I printed that it’s only 3.2 grams heavier. Got a few changes to make it it and I...

Well here is the first print. Some minor tweaks are needed but overall a good first print.

Funny a local flying buddy told me to design and print some of those right after sending him the pics of the wheels I drew up.

I have it setup to print in two halves to make it print better. My plan for tires is the cheap hobby king ones I have to just pull the foam tires off and use it on here. I wanted to have the offset but I actually think the way it would print would make it weaker. I plan to draw one with it...

drew up a couple options of vintage style wheels for the plane I'm designing. they are designed in two halves so I can 3D print them and will use 2-1/2" tires or if I come across some of the printable rubber then I can print them as well. If anyone would like the files I will be more than happy...

Every piece in there has some sort of keyed connection to the others it’s just hard to show unless I make the parts different colors. As for what I’m doing. A buddy over a year ago asked me to draw up a balsa version of the flitetest simple scout. I got mostly done with it in regular AutoCAD but...

Yeah snow is hard on stuff on foam. Was always told to do a good layer of clear packing tape on the bottom of floats for that reason.

I have often thought about making something along those lines

Totally agreed. I will probably also learn to use Fusion 360 as well since its a free software and I can use it at home. Problem with inventor through work is we have a limited number of license for it so we all share a database. That being said it will not work when I'm at home unless I remote...

Nice. Never used solid works. Only learning inventor now as I get a free copy of it through work since we use it for all our design work.

Nice work on the 3D model. I’ve been learning to use Autodesk Inventor and it’s been a fun process.

More progress. Got the main spar notch cut and the spar glued in. Also might have gone slightly overboard using the router attachment for the dremel to put pockets in the surface of the wing for the servos to recess down into. Finally got the bottom vertical fuse piece glued for good.
