What type of price are you guys paying for the glass? I had read somewhere to use the think tempered stuff.

Have you built both ways, pins, tpins, etc. verses glass? Are the actual build times to completion any different - is glass faster? Also, where do you get your glass at? I am thinking glass makes a more precise build, but maybe not. I would really like to see a benefits verse challenges on this...

Help! What size tank for 50cc Yak54

Agreed. We try to help each other and make the whole process best as possible and one great thing is that we do have options. Be a pretty dull world if there were only one flavor of ice cream :D.

Help! What size tank for 50cc Yak54

From what I have read on the subject, Viton is a registered trademark from Dupont, but fluoroelastomer is an FKM designation (basically a title of something or process).I am sure the Sullivan fuel line is fine. I am just indicating my preference to be Viton. I can be totally wrong about my...

Help! What size tank for 50cc Yak54

I don't believe this is Viton, but a custom proprietary fluoro-elastomer line as it is stated on the package. Viton is trademarked. It is probably good line yet I would not hesitate to pay the extra and stick with Viton.

Help! What size tank for 50cc Yak54

If you have ever used both types of Viton you can tell the difference. I have both that I use and they do not have the same feel. I am not sure why WrongWay does not show the rating on the line. Maybe send them an email and ask them to verify the rating on it so you know what you purchased. The...

Help! What size tank for 50cc Yak54

Yes, just like other tubing, you have to get the correct tubing when it comes to Viton. There are a lot of different types.

That is much easier than I ever imagined. I do suppose you have to have the same type covering for when you shrink it so it all expands the same and you don't have issues with the seams? Where did you get your piece of glass from?

Yes, we will line that up. I have a flying buddy that would probably like to learn that process as well, if you are good with that.

The glass method is something I really want to try at some point.

Help! What size tank for 50cc Yak54

Agreed. I build my own tanks and I would definitely not use Tygon when you can get Viton. Sure it is pricey, but for the value it simply hard to beat. It is far superior in every way. I took a tank apart some months back after about five years of use just for the total heck of it and the Viton...

Help! What size tank for 50cc Yak54

Should be fine. I use a 20 oz glacial water bottle on 50-60cc stuff and in 10 minutes I only use about 2/3 of the tank. If you are really ripping it up you may use more though. You should fly it a few times and check it then you can tell exactly how much you are using.

You simply cannot beat it when the bags drip grease all over the place and you gotta have a towel just to keep the grease from running everywhere. Reminds me of good old country cooking.

Oh ok, I have done that. I thought this was sort of like Pilot where you could get repair sections. They don't even list the plane I need parts for :D

Supposed to be in the sixties here today. Most of the snow melted away yesterday. It is really wet and messy, but still should be a nice flying evening.
