    Covering Contest/Pilot 40% 122" Extra 330SC

Many kudos! I think another side benefit of this contest was that I got some great ideas for other covering schemes that I like and that would probably fall within my skill level. Some of those orange schemes were sweet for a set of older eyes. ;)

Thanks Balsadust, but I don't plan to keep it. The prize will be donated to CVRC, one of the local RC clubs, to further promote the hobby. They have several events throughout the year and this should fit perfectly. Now I just need some ideas as to what to get.

I cannot remember where, but I saw some checkers with that curved distorted look on a plane and it looked really nice. I inquired about them and the person told me they were a dog to do! In my opinion, the anti-typical checkers look much better than the standard square ones. I bought some square...

Wow....thanks a bunch! I am not surprised you like this scheme, but I am surprised you chose this scheme given the level of difficulty it presents. Out of the pages and pages of planes I looked at, this kept popping up overall in my mind as the most unique and exciting design, especially the...

I really like the pearl metallics, but cannot picture any covering coming very close at all. Hard to duplicate because of the layering that is involved with pearls. Your base coats have a lot to do with the finish look and they look different at different angles of light.

I like that and would be excellent for visibility. Some of them are hard to find more than one or two pictures. Be nice to see the sides and how they are laid out. I think that scheme could be duplicated easier than some of the others. It might be difficult to get that fading from heavy orange...

I bet this one would be a dog trying to cover and too much black!

Although I like my earlier post, this one I found on a flight sim was very interesting. PICs might be a tad small.

We could always follow the pattern and discuss any one of these three that quickly get derailed and turn into a see who can pee the farthest match: 1. Which radio is best 2. Which oil is best 3. FAA regulations

I got some great deals on those "brown out" radios and never had a glitch. They served me well, plus saved a lot of coin, because the previous owners swore they were bad. I remember a few years ago when at the field and someone would have an issue, the first words were usually "radio problem."...

Yep, you got it! Now, if you look at a lot of the pictures of that plane some look red, others a deep red/burgundy look. The picture I posted has a metallic, almost burgundy look. I prefer the burgundy in the case of an RC plane, just because you don't see that anywhere in a scheme like that...
