    Covering Contest/Pilot 40% 122" Extra 330SC

Those look much better than I suspected. I have some metallic covering and it looks nice, but one thing I know from messing with it some metallic covering in the past is that it has to be matched to the right colors or it simply looks bad (from my limited experience) and you have to have just...

    Covering Contest/Pilot 40% 122" Extra 330SC

I bet it is metallic pearls which require some serious work to get them to look that good. Wonder what kind of hours was put into that job, especially the engine rip outs on the engine cowl? One thing is for sure, if someone could cover one like that it would a one of kind RC plane and would...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Put most of my b and e graphics on and took her out yesterday for some spins. I just have to put the rudder graphics on and one more name graphic on canopy.

    Covering Contest/Pilot 40% 122" Extra 330SC

I will have to look some more as I did not see a good shot of the bottom. I was wondering myself about that. The ripouts on the engine compartment are wild. All those curves can make for a challenging covering job. I can barely cut straight lines much less curves.

Nice job. I should do this on my larger planes, but I am way too lazy and have other things that need doing much more. Maybe this winter if we get snowed in. I hope it is a mild winter and I can fly more.

Pilot 40% 330 Recover and Build

Now that ya'll have suggested those super easy covering schemes what will he do with all the spare time?

Pilot 40% 330 Recover and Build

I can imagine a slab that size would take around 35 rolls of covering and that would just cover the wings. :big-grin:

I so agree and the thing is, this sickness spreads like wildfire and there is no cure. It must be fed!

Cool The I'm going out flying thread 2017

For some of us I think it is an age thing. When I was younger, I hardly paid any mind to the weather and you could hardly get me in the house. I would stay out in it for hours on end. As the years drifted by that changed for me. I can do without the cold stuff now. I do what I have to do in the...

I enjoy a good report as there are too many bad ones. Glad you had a great day and the planes came home in one piece.

Amazing how some of them will hold just fine and some simply won't unless you tap them. I had to put a screw in one of my knurled ones and yet the other knurled one stayed put. Socket head servo screw has multiple uses for sure!

Nicely done. BTW, those of you that run canisters, do you put screws in to keep them on? I can heat the plastic piece, put the clamp on and still comes loose. I put a screw in one of my DA 120 cans and now I think I am going to do the same with a proflow can. What is the best way?
