I’m going out flying thread 2019

"Tribal burials" are fitting for brave warriors. The great war of spatter has claimed many whose hearts burned for glory

    Awesome Video Thread

Looks like a Burt Rutan design. Sounds like a Star Wars POD racer o_O.

I’m going out flying thread 2019

Got out yesterday with a friend to test the new Spektrum AR620 Rx. Testing was in a glow powered (Saito 72) GP Reactor. The telemetry showed 40dba signal strength as far out as I was comfortable with (about 1000 feet out with an altitude of about 100 feet) and the flight log showed only 8 data...

    AeroWorks 150cc Ultimate

It's because peak values cause the biggest voltage drop on the batteries and voltage drop causes electronics to behave unreliably. And it is "over time" or how long the drop last's. This information (how long the voltage drop last's) is not available on any data / flight logger that I know of...

I’m going out flying thread 2019

We need to come up with a design that is all foam, fairly sturdy and.....The wings eject themselves when a direct hit on a "sweet spot" on the belly of the fuse happens :D.

    Scale 35% Krill Extra 330SC....CUSTOM-ARF!!!

Well Earle it's good to see you haven't put the "brakes" on the Krill too hard :concern: (pun there somewhere ). The Godfrey does look good though :attaboy:.

Sorry to see you guys in "RC Anxiety" :apathy:. But I have a HUGE case of it because for the past 3 days it has been PERFECT flying weather here but I have not been able to take advantage o_O. Don't know what situation hurts the most :do_not_know:.

    AeroWorks 150cc Ultimate

The ignition for a twin only draws about 2.5 amps at WOT. I don't know how power hungry your servos are but if you figure that most HV/HT digital servos stall at anywhere between 5-10amps each then 8 servos could make the system see anything between 40 to 80 amps peak momentarily. The 5 H50B...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

No not a gasser. But I guess it would depend on if you needed cooling from there for scale reasons :do_not_know: ? There would be a need for a cooling shroud of some sort like heli's have . Maybe you are " Loco La Cabeza" :spongebob:. hehehe

I really like those too. The Tru-Turn "turbo cool" are really nice. I like the way Tru-Turn machines the back plate. It's like turbine blading and helps force air over the motor.

    Carb & Fuel Flow Question

Yes you can lose prime through the HS check. As far as the gasket material used the black is for our engines ( higher rpm and gasoline fuel) the tan for lower rpm engines running "heavy fuels". Thanks for posting up that video. Will answer a lot of questions guys have. You da Man :attaboy:. The...

    Carb & Fuel Flow Question

They do I guess. There is one thing you said that makes me believe the issue is in the "pump side" of the carb or air leak in the pulse passages , carb block or fuel inlet nipple. "fuel flows back out". Once these carbs are primed they should remain that way unless air is getting in somewhere...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I have been closely watching. I'll chime in soon. I do have a project lined up. Hope to have it done by next hurricane season. It's a 20 year old 4KW generator. Another freebee barn find. When I saw it would still turn over by hand I got all excited knowing it has hope for future use.

I did not use the flexseal. Two coats (used about 75% of the rustoleum paint) of paint did the trick. It stalls nice and clean now with the nose dropping slightly :). It tracks solid and is very stable thanks to the Aura 8. Landing is fun again :D.

Just some "parting" shots. I'm "Cub'd" out now :brian-banana:. Flew it yesterday morning and it's a different plane :). Behaves much better. So unless I perfect the "dirt nap" my shop is open to new business :cautious:.

    Carb & Fuel Flow Question

I really need to change my name to "Rodney" as in "Dangerfield"....I get NO respect :face-palm:. lol @Bartman I have been doing a bit of looking for you on the Bing49 carb. That carb has been a favorite on the more powerful chain saws and guys here in the US had been getting rebuild parts from...
