Getting close to finishing this thing. Thinking of using 1/4" copper tubing and fittings to make up the scale exhaust. The Aura 8 went in snug between the tail servos. Got it programmed up and ready to fly :). Got the covers on the bottom painted too.

Well.....Here it is all done with the exception of the scale exhaust. Currently looking for some 1/4" copper tube and fittings.

Great! I am going to install an Aura 8 in the Cub and finish the painting then install dummy engine exhaust. Something tells me "I don't think so" :lol2:

Now that I have a good idea how this Cub flies at 17.5 pounds (wet) it was time for some accurate CG placement. I had added a 9oz weight in the compartment that is just behind the fire wall when the 26cc engine was up front. Now that the 35cc engine is up front the Cub flew pretty nose heavy...

The desk oscillator fans of the 40's. 50's and 60's usually had a "data plate" riveted to the base somewhere. The fan blade design is also a key to whom might have made it. With that said.....Emerson or Hunter comes to mind too. Good luck with it. I noticed you said "plastic gear" for the...

No doubt there. From what I saw it was very impressive. But I have made my bed and will have to sleep in it :sleepy:.

It's a DuBro 10oz modified. Instead of all three lines coming from the stopper / bung... the fuel fill line penetrates the tank itself with a brass fitting and O ring. This was done for two reasons...1) have a scale fuel dot to "mimic the fuel level indicator" and 2) let the tank fit inside as...

A fella at the fly-in had a HORUS 10 he got dirt cheap at an estate sale. Couple of Benjamins did his bidding. Put my hands on it and it felt pretty darn good. The gimbals and stick tension very nice. The programming was challenging for my dead brain :concern:. Or should I say trying to figure...

I’m going out flying thread 2019

Got in a few flights on the Cub at the Scale Fly In. New engine was the trick for this heavy and high wing loaded Cub. The DLE35 pulled it very well :) . Windy (10-20mph) but right down the runway. Knocked the Cub around a bit in the air but I was able to get some fun "one wheel" touch and go's...

Yep I did. Finally got to check it all out in a small 10oz tank in the Cub. The DLE 35 started easily and ran great using one.

Yes sir I concur …..His hiding out in a pothole for a bit morphed him to "Mr. Fancy Pants". Makes me wonder if I go crawl under a rock what kind of "fancy" I could do o_O. Now if you all would excuse me.....I have a pretty big rock I need to go find. Maybe @stangflyer will be hiding under it...

Spent some shop time working the cowl to the Cub. It don't look purdy now but it will look super after this weekends scale event o_O. The DLE35RA is a bit longer than the original RCGF26 that was in it. But it all worked out including adding about 1.5 degrees down thrust and .5 degrees right...
