    Yippee! What the postman brought

I think he ordered a 9380th for the rudder. I've heard some really good things about the 9300 series of servos. I've been very happy with my 7954's and 7950 that I bought on your recommendation. Tony bought his because I was so happy with mine. Dollar for dollar, the 7954 is an awesome buy.

Krill 39% Ultimate 300KS Assembly And Paint

I decided I wasn't happy with the look of the canopy bolts I used, so I decided to replace them with countersunk flat heads. I don't have the right countersink here, so I used a drill bit by hand, then a carbide burr by hand in a pinvise. It took a while to get them just right, but the results...

Krill 39% Ultimate 300KS Assembly And Paint

I was able to get the cowl to fit really nicely, with a little argument. The two upper bolt holes are going to take a little filling, I had to move them a bit.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

Some goodies for the Krill Ultimate. Still missing the rudder servo, evidently the new Hitec, trick, double throw down, bad a$$ series of servos, are selling like hotcakes and they were out of stock at the moment.

Volcano Orange. It's a tri-cote, so I doubt we would use that one. But there are some that are standard basecoat.

Krill 39% Ultimate 300KS Assembly And Paint

I'm pretty sure the main color will be a metallic orange, but that's a ways off.

Yeah that is part of the plan. We had hoped that they had followed Carf's lead and started doing that themselves, but no such luck.

Krill 39% Ultimate 300KS Assembly And Paint

This thread will cover the assembly and painting of a custom scheme on a Krill 39% Ultimate. My flying buddy Tony has been wanting one of these for a while now and decided now was the time. He wanted to order a custom scheme from Krill, but they told him that he wouldn't get it till next...

    Show Me the Biplanes!!!!

Well the Krill Ultimate made it to my house last night and tonight I started tinkering with it by fixing the miss aligned canopy and cowl bolts. I'll be starting a new thread for it tomorrow sometime and post some pics.

Any time Rob. Glassing and painting can be done with a reasonable weight gain, and you absolutely cannot use WrinkleCote on a giant Warbird with a cool ass Kolm, it would be a sacrilege.;)

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I think so much depends on how rich the low speed needle valve is set. But what setting it takes to start easy, and what it takes to run well, or not always the same setting. I can make my GP start easy by richening the low end, but then the transition sucks. So, I set it to where the transition...

Yep, that's where I found it and sent it to Tony.

    Show Me the Biplanes!!!!

All we could come up with was that the original fuselage either didn't say Ultimate, or it was further forward on the airplane. Tony stopped by my work today and said he's narrowing a scheme choice down. He's going to bring me the fuse, rudder and cowl tonight so I can get started putting the...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I've been tempted to take my GP61 and smash it into a million pieces when it wont start. Then it starts, and the power makes up for it all. It's a love hate relationship.;) A known GP small issue, they chrome the prop hub for some reason and then put chrome prop bolts in it that galled in the...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

GP123 is said to be more powerful than the DLE, so I guess it just depends on what you want. They say it is more powerful than a DA120, certainly not DA quality, but powerful.

Discussion The I’m going out flying thread 2018

The forecast yesterday morning when I got up at 5 was pretty rainy looking for most of the day, not to mention foggy. By 7am most of the rain was out of the forecast so I packed up and went out. It turned out to be a pretty good day. Kinda windy at times, but loads of fun was had. I put 4...

    Scale Don Smith P-51 Mustang

Very cool Prop, Airplane and Engine..................... Serious loss of points for the "Man Bun". :lol2: Going by his pitch and RPM numbers, if it would unload say 1000 rpm in the air, that's maybe a 90+ mph airplane. Static pitch speed is around 75. Here is my flying buddy Tony's Byron P-51...
