    Exactly what I did on my Carf. I used a piece of 3M clear chip guard tape over the countersunk screw as a bit of insurance over the Loctited screw. Worked like a charm and easy to get to if needed.

    The nasty fuel we get around here would turn bad before I could use 5 gallons. This year I flew the DA120 more than my smaller engines, so I did go through more fuel than I normally do, even though I didn't get that many flights in. I just checked, another miserable year in numbers of flights...

    These Ratio Rite's are nice too. Makes mixing different amounts a breeze. Plus the lid keeps it clean.

    It does work well, and the stabs are pretty secure. Carf and Krill both use it. I did end up countersinking the bolts like I did on the canopy, it worked out very well. I also shortened the servo arms to 1 1/4", they look much better.

    Last night I glued pieces of hardwood dowel in each end of the stab tube. Tonight I drilled and tapped holes for the bolts that hold the stab on. I'm not sure that these bolts are going to stay, or if I'm going to change them to a countersunk like I did on the canopy.

    Those are SWB's that came from with the servo tray, but you can buy them separately. That tray was very complete, it came with pretty much everything, including the rudder cable.

    Yesterday I assembled the SWB rudder tray so I can eventually fit it in the fuselage. I also worked on the second elevator servo and slot. I robbed one set of 1 1/2" turnbuckles from the rudder tray for the elevators.

    I've been working on one of the elevators, test mounting the servo and checking to see if the recommended servo arms and turnbuckles we have are correct. It turns out they're both wrong. I'm getting the maximum throw in the 1 1/4" hole of a 1 1/2" arm, and I need a 1 1/2" turnbuckle, not a 2"...

    Just noticed one of the F-86's was NX860AG FU-666. That used to belong to one of my customers Terry Klingele. He also had a Mig 15 and a Mig 17. Evidently Laser Eye surgery was pretty profitable.;)
