Discussion The I’m going out flying thread 2018

If you go into the mix menu, you should be able to find a throttle hold option. That's the one you need.

That's exactly what that is. When the switch is on the thottle is dead. I'll check the programming on my 11X tonight to see how I did it.

I'm old, so yeah I remember one of Heff's finest from back in the day.

I do it on JR's all the time, but need a radio in front of me to remember how. I'm fairly sure it's a mix that when turned on zeros the throttle. I run two on my Helicopters. One is the normal throttle hold, the other is just a throttle cutoff that is right next to the throttle hold so in a...

Normally when assembling these your just mounting equipment, pretty standard stuff. This fuselage is a replacement. I guess it was damaged when Chief Aircraft got it, so they replaced it before selling it. That added more work since the rudder post was not installed.

Man that sucks. Hope you heal up fast. Do you use a tiedown around the tail? I love these, they're easy to do and are very secure.

I even shrank them down to around 1 megabyte to keep them manageable.

When I left for the field this morning it was 36 degrees. I thought going early was nuts, but Tony wanted to go early. My guess was his "Kitchen Pass" was only good in the morning. By the time I got there it was a toasty 40 degrees. Honestly it wasn't bad at all. There was basically no wind...

Instructions? What are these things you call instructions? No such thing on this airplane. ;)

Mainly because I have no idea what it's supposed to look like, and don't have so much as a picture. And the way I think everything should go doesn't fit together.

I finally got to install the finished cowl yesterday, I think it turned out pretty well. The next step is to install the rudder post and hinges. Another project caused by the replacement fuselage. This job is going to suck, plain and simple.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I spent yesterday afternoon helping a guy get is 40% Aeroworks Extra 260 ready to fly. I think it's a ready as I can make it. He's taking it to the field today. The only way I can describe this airframe is ROUGH. It's been hacked and cobbled on something fierce, it seems solid but it looks like...

The blind nuts are installed, when I go down there sometime today, I'll finally get to install it as see the finished split cowl. I didn't do a careful neat glue job on the blind nuts. After having a blind nut on a hatch bolt on my scratch build Miss Moana that was not glued in spin in the...

Last night I glued all the plywood blocks in for the blind nuts. The rear most blind nut on each side is mounted inside the fuselage. The screw will go through the upper and lower cowl, then into the fuse. I used Hysol to glue the blocks in, I real like that stuff for ease of use. Splitting the...

    Scale Don Smith P-51 Mustang

Well we all can't afford to spend 10 grand building a Warbird, so if you want something of reasonable size with a reasonable price tag, you have two choices, electric with no sound, or a obnoxiously loud single with a stock muffler. While I can't personally bring myself to run a stock muffler on...

Yeah they really pile in the servos in the scale foamies. My Mig has 8 plus electric retracts. 9 in a Stinger 90. Those use a splitting board instead of Y harnesses.

The I'm NOT going out flying thread.

Wow, gorgeous, and it may only be 9 in the morning here, but I'd like to put some of that whiskey to good use. Even though I haven't done that kind of thing in almost 30 years.;)
