    Tonight I laid down the glass cloth in the cowl for the lip. I started by masking the outside right to the edge with blue vinyl "Finelines" Masking tape.     We went flying this morning. I took my Freewing Mig21 and my T-Rex 550 Heli. It was damp, cold, and very overcast. The sky's were so bad that when I did a big loop with the Heli I about lost it so I cut the flight short and landed. The Mig wasn't much better, it was just a dark blob in the sky.

    Last night I cut out the cowl openings and started to tackle splitting the cowl. This one was a little hard to cut, but went okay. The messy part comes next.

    The Ultimate isn't split at all, just a full cowl. Kind of surprising in this day and age. My Hangar 9 35% Extra 300X wasn't split either, but thanks to a great thread by Terry Wiles (and some previous experience butchering fiberglass ;)) it wasn't a big deal.
