Discussion Federal Appeals Court: FAA Registration Rule violates Section 336
I don't think the licensing for commercial "Drones" will effected by this. This just eliminates the useless $5 registration every 3 years with the FAA. Well, I've had pretty good luck with the Finish 1 stuff from NAPA. It sticks well and sands good for not being an expensive primer. Not sure what a quart costs, but the last gallon we bought was $60.- Bipeguy03

Wings are painted! Just have a few small spots to touch up with a pencil brush. Now everything gets to sit for a week, then I'm going to shoot on a light coat of urethane clear, after I get find someone to make the N number and more importantly the shield that goes under the cabanes.- Bipeguy03

Wings are white! Got them sprayed early this morning, so I can mask them tomorrow afternoon. Luckily, the next round of masking is simple enough I might get the red sprayed tomorrow night. But we'll see.- Bipeguy03

Started masking the wings this evening. This is the bottom wing. The bottom of the bottom wing will have 3" checkerboards, outlined with 1/16" pinstripes. Lots of masking left to do!- Bipeguy03

It's got to sit until tomorrow. Dope softens the underlying layers of dope, so I you pull tape to soon, you could pull everything up all the way down to bare fabric. Tonight is gonna suck... It's gonna be like a little kid on Christmas waiting to open presents:)- Bipeguy03

Best advise I can give you about the maiden of a plane you built is this, DON'T OVER THINK IT. Wait untill the day your gut says its time, and then just do it. If you keep waiting until the perfect day, or until all the stars and planets align, you'll just end up being a nervous wreck. And...- Bipeguy03

Actually, dope will cover really well. It only took 2 coats to cover the black. The only spots where it didn't do so well was on the elevators, but I'm pretty sure it was my fault, and I just missed spaying those spots. I'll touch them up when I spray the wings. Finally got the pinstripes masked up on the fuse, landing gear and tail. And because it took 3 days to get it done, I got a little worried about leaving it until I got the wings masked. So I hatched the plan to get the fuse, LG and tail feathers finished and then do the wing. That way I can...- Bipeguy03
