    None of the ARF profiles can take a hit. all plywood that just shatters on impact. Stick built with a TUBE is the way to go for a profile.

    The two off to the right are ones I 3D printed and use a regular single edge razor blade. Havent actually tried them yet.

    Working on a glider for a buddy. This is off of jsut one wing tip block getting it all ready. Little sanding left to do on it but happy so far with what I have from just using a razor plane.

    For most I hand cut each checker out and put them on. I do have a roll of the predone ones that I use from time to time.

    I just use these custom sanding blocks that I make and used to sell. Very easy to just hold in my hand and make a couple light passes but have often thought about making up my own jig like the bottom pic to dial things in exact.

    IF any of your kiddos are in college you can use their student email to get the student version for free. That's what I still use.

    Looks great. Go ahead and fully assemble it without covering including all servos and the engine and what not to see where it balances. That will let you know ahead of time if the tail servos need to be mounted further forward or not.

    Havent messed with solidworks just AutoCAD but will be putting either Fusion360 or Inventor on my work laptop soon to start learning the 3D modeling stuff.
