I know what you mean. I am always looking for a deal with an engine and read a lot about other brands. Some of the cheaper engines are coming with decent records now. I have 3 DAs and it is really hard to buy another brand even though it is less price. DA's service for me has been outstanding.

Nice work! My buddy got his almost completed, just have to install the engine now. Once he saw mine fly with the RCGF 26cc he opted for the same engine.

Good job on getting this plane together and posting all the information that you have posted for the rest of us. That alone is a lot of work. The information you have given has been extremely valuable. With all the problems you had with the plane, I am sure you were close to throwing in the...

    GSN GIVE-A-WAY Hangar 9 35% Extra 300X Assembly

I really like the cans on my planes. Did you find on your Extras that you had to do a lot of compensation to get the cg to a satisfactory level? I have an EF Extra 300 88" that I am planning to put a can on (it had one years ago before I got it), but the plane is balance so nicely right now that...

You are right about the AW manuals. I do remember, they were top notch and everything was clear and detailed.

It is supposed to be an oven around here this weekend too. I hate flying when sweat is running in your eyes and burning. Takes the enjoyment out of it. Fortunately we can morning fly at one field so that is super nice.

I find this type of thing most interesting. With AW some folks got help and some did not and that to me makes no sense at all. I had a buddy that flew AW and was fairly die-hard about them. His planes were really nice and AW seemed to always take care of him with almost a personal touch and it...

Since I was not able to do pics, here are the steps I used Cut the old wing tube sleeve out of the fuselage Sand and clean where the old wing tube was mounted in the fuselage Cut a piece of fiberglass cloth about two inches wider than the actual size of the fuse and enough to make two complete...

About everything that could have gone wrong with that plane has it seems. It is amazing how poorly everything was built and reminds me of some of those cheap nitro plane cmp arfs and even those probably fit up better than the issues you have had. Such a good looking plane though.

That was the plan, but I was trying to powerwash the back of my shop and do about 15 different things all at the same time, so did not get any pics. Hopefully I can get some pics of unwrapping and seeing if it fits in the fuse and how the wing tube fits etc. These things are easy enough to...

I had worn the wing tube socket out on the fuselage of my 88" EF Extra, so I removed it and made my first attempt at making a wing tube socket for the fuse. I basically followed some instructions online, but I won't really know until tomorrow how it will turn out as it is curing now. Being my...

No doubt, when you run out of room it can be tough. I used to have a small place and had a tough time with all my many projects I felt I had to have. Now days, I have more room than I need and organization is actually more of an issue than I thought it would be. I am constantly trying to get...

I have read about doing this and it would certainly save covering. What happens when you get ready to heat and stretch it? Do you ever have any issues with it pulling apart?

How was the fun fly? Let me know if they have another one as I might be able to make it.

So I was trying to get a side exhaust muffler for my RCGF 26 to fit the profile and I took a chance and ordered the RCGF 50cc twin muffs and sure enough they fit perfectly. So now I don't have to bother with all the slop blowing on the wing. BTW the RCGF 26cc engine is working great on the Mojo...

Could we ever get going on this topic! This is sort of side tracking from what I did in my workshop, but we all have to deal with being short changed in today's world. The quality of many types of products have cut every possible corner imaginable. Wife and I like the Carolina pork barbeque...

Yes, it is a bummer when something like this happens. I have learned a few rough lessons over the years. As someone once stated if you are not confident in a product don't use it. With Viton I would just make sure it is the good stuff. I am sure anything can happen and Viton just like any...
