    Yippee! What the postman brought

That's awesome David. But I have to admit, I am just a little bit jealous. I loves me some 260 flying. I sure miss Baby. Oh well, maybe one day I will get another huh? Perhaps someone will have a still new in box SD 40%. Stranger things have happened. I just saw three old red box Top Flite kits...

    Scale Don Smith P-51 Mustang

Which brings me to another point to ponder. Obviously these two planes annihilate anything that is even of the same design. Hardly in the same class. Annihilation cometh as the angel of death..hence Grim Reaper? Also, the meanest and most ferocious RC warbird in the skies. You all know where I...

    Scale Don Smith P-51 Mustang

So I spent the afternoon searching for that video I mentioned. And then it occurred to me that perhaps I was referencing two planes, two engines and two different scenarios. And then I found it. Only...it is of Galloping Ghost with a 230 inline quad. I really dont know how I could've been so far...

    Scale Don Smith P-51 Mustang

Now you're picking up what I'm thinking. Well true as that is, a Carden 40% weighs between 36 to 43ish pounds depending on setup. And max speed is somewhere between 50 to 70 miles per hour. And that may be stretching it just a bit. Also they typically don't have a huge 16 lb motor hanging off...

    Yippee! What the postman brought

I appreciate that. But before I say ok, if I put it in one airframe...will they all "NOT" feel the wind? Imagine how awesome hovers would be if the red headed beasts were not affected by the wind! I better not my friend. I'd probably become dependent on it. Thank you though. Anytime you pick...

    Yippee! What the postman brought

From the sounds of it and this is just my opinion, it kind of sounds like the Gyros are more Hassle and Troublesome than they are worth. Is there really an advantage to them? I can see in a helicopter how they would be a huge benefit.

    Scale Don Smith P-51 Mustang

Besides working on the Velox, I played with the Mustang today. Shame on me. Couldn't resist. Bored out of my mind and so burned out on everything. So I had to get back in the mood. Did I mention this Don Smith is a lot of work? Hmm, yeah...LOTS of work. So the stab is built very similar to the...

Well I stand corrected then. Thank you. Shows all you my extent of knowledge of use on the gyros huh? Lol

    GP 76 twin gas engine

This I do not know and like my friend, very reluctant to imply or suggest when the details revolving around the engine are so sparse. Again i would assume GP will try to stay industry standard. They used the same exhaust flange configuration on the 176 as DA did the 170. Will they adapt the 76...

    Yippee! What the postman brought

I'm going to test my technological common sense and see if I understand the setup you've planned. Since I've never had or used a gyro, I'm only assuming when it comes to functionality. As I understand, a gyro on an rc airplane such as the one you have there, though far more elaborate and...

    GP 76 twin gas engine

So I thought I would take a minute to toss out there the information that I got yesterday on the GP76. I finally was able to talk to my friend who is an actual GP dealer. He is asking everyone to "NOT" believe all you may hear or have been told. Yes, some of what has been "leaked" is true. Yes...

    Yippee! What the postman brought

I will stick my neck out but maybe what "Snoops" was referring to was the same thing I have found with the J and J tailwheels I have. A tail wheel is a tail wheel right? Not so much... Some rubber tires are very soft and peal right off the wheel itself. Ask me how I know this. LOL. Or due to...

    Yippee! What the postman brought

Agreed! I too have J and J tail wheels on my planes. The best I have ever owned.

    GP 76 twin gas engine

Mike is 100% accurate. They make very good power. Way more than a DA, less than a 3w. But still very powerful Motors. I believe the biggest problem why they have had issues starting and tuning them, is because they take a little longer to break in than a DA or a dle or like. Plus the carburetion...

    GP 76 twin gas engine

No word from my friend, but I did dig this info up. https://blackravenaerosports.com/gp-76-coming-soon---priced-around-650-tbc-206-p.asp From the sounds of it, the recommended prop range will be in the 25" range. 25x8@7100 rpm. Prop bolt pattern will no doubt match the DA, EME, RCGF 70...

    GP 76 twin gas engine

I absolutely agree with you. I can find out from my friend. I would bet that he would know. But if I were to make an educated guess, I bet it will be like the industry standard of The Da 70, eme 70, rcgf 70. What I have noticed is that most of the engine manufacturers are trying to stay...

    GP 76 twin gas engine

Love the Tillotson carbs. Hate the mounting on the back of the engine. Biggest and truthfully the "ONLY" reason I have not purchased a red headed 70 twin. On another note, I spoke with one of GP's vendors today. A friend of mine. The word on the GP 76 is...it's coming. It is definitely coming...

I’m going out flying thread 2019

What an awesome story. I giggled all the way through it. But if I were to let the glow fuel smell take me back, I would see myself "alone" as my instructor could not find his way to our flying site. Which by the way was not a club. It was a secluded stretch of road that is now overrun with...
