    DA170 Pipe Recommendations

@Bunky.F.Knuckle after posting this question, I did some further reading on other forums and there seemed to be a fair few folks suggesting the RE3s weren't bringing the best out of the engine. Have you run both types on the DA170, as I would be interested to hear how they actually compare...

    DA170 Pipe Recommendations

Hi all, I'd appreciate some advice. Am getting ready to put together my first "40%-er". Plan is to use a DA170 on pipes, but the question is - which pipes? The ones I'm considering are really RE3 vs KS1090 although I'd happily hear other good options too. Can anyone share any experiences please?

@thurmma if after changing to 2 pole you are still not up and running try the following links. Firstly, wiring: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=32085477&postcount=13 Then if still no, look at this - it suggests some resistance may be needed between the ignition supply voltage and...

@thurmma, no it should work fine. The CB200 acts as a hub I believe. Just connect the JetiBox and if you don't see your module on JB1, then try JB2. Good luck.

@thurmma you will need to change the number of poles to 2. Don't worry though, you already have a Jetibox! It is a software version built into you transmitter, you'll find it under Applications -> Jetibox on your TX. Do note that when you are using two receivers you need to select the Jetibox...

Thanks @BillVargas. I was wondering about building it up with epoxy + ground carbon fibre, but that would be harder to sand...

    Carbon Propeller Repair

Hi guys, I made an error when I was dragging my plane back from the pits and caught the tip of the carbon prop (a Mejzlik 24x10) on the concrete. It has taken a small chunk out of one prop tip. I'm looking for advice if this can be safely repaired and if so how? I am happy to throw it in the...

IMAC Double Build, Carden Pro 124" Extra 300 40%

The name for this property of a fluid is just too cool to pass up... thixotropic. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thixotropy Good luck in the competition Cam, looking forward to more installments of the build as you're doing a grand job!

Starting Your Plane by Yourself, 60ccc or Larger

FWIW I use the following equipment. However, having come extremely close to injury before I've found 100% concentration and mindfulness are the best protection. And walking away to think if the engine isn't starting as it normally does rather than just keep flipping. I use one of these for...

IMAC Double Build, Carden Pro 124" Extra 300 40%

@orthobird if you go down the ZDZ route, what's your plan for mounting the engine with right-thrust? My understanding is that the PRO has no right-thrust build into firewall. I've seen people use the SWB 3deg mount with DA engines, but they don't do one to suit other makes. I'd also like to go...

    Bowman Rings

Emailed Frank Bowman today to obtain some more rings and was informed he had retired. His product was of exceptional quality and a good tune-up on a DLE engine. Does anyone know of anywhere else I can obtain rings of a similar tolerance / quality to upgrade the ones in a new DLE?

IMAC Double Build, Carden Pro 124" Extra 300 40%

@Snoopy1 shipping is expensive to get it over here, but will be worth it. Transport wise, I have a long wheelbase van... 40% size is fairly popular in UK these days :)

IMAC Double Build, Carden Pro 124" Extra 300 40%

Missed this thread until now @orthobird. Very good timing as after much deliberation between a PRO and the Dalton 300SP I paid Dennis my deposit for a PRO a few weeks back! It is being shipped to the UK. Will be my first giant scale build although I have built plenty of smaller models. Going to...

    jeti DS 16 thread

After much hacking and some very good pointers on RCGroups (esp. TeroS) I've finally managed to get the DS-16 doing what I want for IMAC flight :) Mainly this means stick activated snaps with hysteresis (where the condition is exited at a different, lower rate than it was entered at so you can...
