IMAC Carden Pro 124 Build, My Dream Plane

@ROLLERMAN how much right-thrust does your SWB mount have? Or does the PRO make a right thrust allowance so this is the 0 deg version?

    jeti DS 16 thread

Hi All, looking for some inspiration about how to achieve something with my DS-16. I want to have a "snap" flight mode that is activated by a logical switch. It should come on when both elevator and rudder sticks are pushed beyond 90%. This is easy enough - just use an AND condition. However, I...

    DA120 idle

Thanks @49dimes, sounds like maybe am worrying too much about it - will just go fly and have fun :)

    DA120 idle

Hi guys, My DA120 is well run in (5+ gallons). I'm having trouble getting it to idle below 1100rpm without cutting - I feel it should be able to go lower. I leaned the low end about 1/8 turn but it didn't have any real impact. When I ran with cowl off, I noticed that when I flipped choke off...

IMAC The new Dalton 300 SP / 330

OK, thanks! Looks like step one of the build will be constructing a torsion box :) If I am constructing a new bench I have more choice of size, 90" seems fairly future proof, or better to go more?

IMAC The new Dalton 300 SP / 330

@orthobird/Cam - thanks, that was super quick and exactly what I needed. I have a surface that is 204cm/80" so just a tiny bit short. I'm hoping that because your ruler is at an angle along fuselage and not directly square with your table that maybe it will actually fit? Failing that, would you...

IMAC The new Dalton 300 SP / 330

Hi @orthobird, firstly - loving this build log - thanks for sharing! I swapped emails with Tony over last few days and he told me the 300SP kits will be ready to ship in about 4 weeks. I am sold on getting one shipped to UK, so need to prepare my workshop.. I don't have the luxury of a...

    Desert Aircraft Owners

Hi All, Any experiences of how good the gaskets supplied with DA engines are - should I expect some leakage if I use them alone? I usually use Copper Permatex/RTV sealant (without any "paper" gasket) but have run out and want to get the airframe finished tomorrow!

IMAC Dalton 300 ml build thread.

Thanks. I'd be very interested to know when you do find out the final number. In the UK we have a strictly enforced 20Kg (44Lb) limit on airframe weight in IMAC for the foreseeable future. I'm really keen to build a Dalton - hopefully the 300SP when I can obtain a kit, but obviously need to keep...

Great build @orthobird, thank you! What was the final weight of the ready-to-fly model with the DA200 please?

Opinions please - Fixing Misaligned Manifold/Canister

Thanks all for the advice. I think I've managed to get the coupler to take up the difference. Will let it cool fully overnight and see how it looks in morning...

Opinions please - Fixing Misaligned Manifold/Canister

Don't have a local sadly in the UK, we have to ship everything in from Germany!

Opinions please - Fixing Misaligned Manifold/Canister

Before I take this job on, I thought I'd just ask for opinions... I have a bit of a problem between my canister and manifold. I'd like the canister to run straight down the fuselage due to its size (very tight fit), but this leaves an angled gap which you can see in photo. Anyone got any...

Show us your IMAC transmitter setups

I do this using a Powerbox SmartSwitch. To turn ignition on or off it is a full rotation right, followed by a full rotation left. No accidents!

Tips for Attaching Sensors to Engine Cooling Fins

@Alky6 - I see what you're saying. Some kind of jam between the fins is a workable solution as long as am cautious not to restrict airflow through fins. The sensor is, after all going on the hottest part of the cylinder (rear face, by exhaust port). I'd still like to know if anyone has any...

Tips for Attaching Sensors to Engine Cooling Fins

Unfortunately the unit (at Jeti MT300) is supplied as a loop with both ends attach to a PCB. The sensor is soldered line and is about 10mm long, it can't really be safely bent enough to slip a small enough diameter piece of heat-shrink without risk of damage to sensor. Hope that makes sense?!

Tips for Attaching Sensors to Engine Cooling Fins

(I wasn't sure if this should go in telemetry forum, or engine forum - I settled on engines as it's really a question about how to attach things to engine cooling fins). I have a temperature sensor I would like to attach to the cooling fins on my DA120. It has a lasso loop (see pic), but I...

IMAC practice tips for new pilots.

@orthobird Rules say you are only allowed a single half-roll and no full-loops prior to starting the sequence. So you can't just fly up and down practicing line and turnarounds until the clock says you must start! Suggest it is a good idea to do exactly (obviously allowing for wind direction)...

@Skyluc, which exact Hylomar product do you use as the company makes many under the brand?
