The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I got the Carden back in the air for a quick test flight before going to Kansas tomorrow for some IMAC practice and also possibly lending the Carden to a friend who ran into some bad luck in Abilene at the last contest. I pulled the Futaba electronics out, they were the previous owners, put my...

Prop Choice for IMAC - DA120/RE2 Pipes

Mej 27 x 12th 3 blade is what he is running and it does really well. It will rip if you stay in the throttle on a downline or straight line into the wind. With throttle control it is very manageable.

Sport The Behemoth Yak gets a Behemoth Brother/129" Pilot Yak (2)

Not sure how it would work. If it leaves moisture anywhere, you may end up with a real sticky situation. I personally like the car wax but, that is all that I have rried at this point. Let me know how the saddle soap works for you. I am always open to trying new ideas.

Sport The Behemoth Yak gets a Behemoth Brother/129" Pilot Yak (2)

Hey Rob, Try a few coats of Carnuba wax on the wing tube before you try sanding it. I had a really tight wing tube on the LX and someone told me to give that a shot and it worked. I don't care for sanding a wing tube because over time it will have material removed just through normal wear and...

I was praying to the flying gods and thanking them for letting me get my airplane on the ground in one piece after finding the wiring issue in the image below. This is my electronic switch for my ignition!

Cool The I'm going out flying thread 2017

I got away with a big one tonight!!! The engine started cutting out from time to time while flying but, it seemed like it was only in certain attitudes. I brushed it off as a fuel flow issue and did a little tweaking on the carb figuring the engine was finally done breaking in :-) Everything...

How long are the headers? Maybe a shout out to KS with the length and what is going on will yield a good place to start :)

Cool The I'm going out flying thread 2017

There was no flying for me last weekend due to mother nature :( Hoping to get out tonight for some practice. Have a contest coming up this weekend and they are using the Alternate sequence, no roller. Guess I should take a look at it :)

Sport The Behemoth Yak gets a Behemoth Brother/129" Pilot Yak (2)

Sounds like my story with a certain 176EVO :) Although I did finally get a brand spankin' new V2 176EVO directly from the factory a couple months ago. It is sitting in my garage as a backup in the event one of my 180's go down. Good luck with the new crank. I know it took DA a while to get the...
