Cool Bob Nelitz own built PA-18

Very nice nelitz indeed. Looks much much better than my Sig J-3. What's under the hood of that beauty?

Scale 1/3 Scale Extra 330L Build.

Looking at the plans in the picture it looks as if you do not have the left side plan aligned with the right side plan. Just follow the wing joiner tube "paper socket" as your centering reference.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Yes there is too much "I fly x brand so you do too or else" these days :dancing-chicken:. :laughing:You can still find "budget" quality servos but you got to look for them. Personally if I was willing to pay the price I would fly Hi Tech's or MKS. But I don't need that kind of servo to do what...

    GP 76 twin gas engine

It was sold along with this airframe. The V1 and V2 Fly model Extra 330sc's I had I ended up selling. Good acro / IMAC planes but not really the best for low and slow. Both planes really dropped the left wing tip easily in hovers and landings with a neutral CG no matter how much power you had in...

    Yippee! What the postman brought

I'm pretty sure (Futaba's super servo) that's why BlueBird did a total re-design of BLS H50B to the BLS H51B. Supposed to be a bit more efficient and not drop the voltage like the 50B's. Have "soft start" , HV and LV protection plus stall protection . Seems they took a page from the Hi-Tech...

    GP 76 twin gas engine

There engines are a bit more expensive than a comparable DLE. There quality is on par with DLE. There performance surpasses DLE. I can't believe I have never owned one yet but have flown a couple of the 123's. Felt like the DA 120 I had. Some have had negative experiences with their larger...

In the past I have ordered directly from Blue Bird via e-mail / PayPal. They have a new "Mini Servo" The Coreless A920 wide voltage. About 190ozin torque .09 transit @ 7.4 volts. They also have many other mini / micros with over 100ozin torque and .10 to .08 transit speeds. All reasonably...

Your proceeding quite nicely even though a "Mechanical Engineer" designed that kit. And you know them "Mechanical Engineer's"....Always trying to "kill two birds with one stone" :face-palm:.

    Discussion My friend and yours...

April 12 this year will mark when I lost my father 27 years ago from complications of the disease. He was only 60 years old. I just turned 60 last year. Lost my mother 10 years later with complications from brain and lung cancer. She was only 68. Like you I miss them both terribly. I truly...

That's a great idea with the lights :attaboy:. Will have to do the same to mine. Don't you know it was a sad day indeed. I wonder if we could talk Toni @Pilot-RC in to making a V4 run of the V2 style Edge with all that CF he is now putting in the planes and that cool canopy lock system. And of...

Thanks Rob. I thought a racing scheme best fits this plane. Speaking of which.....I am really looking forward to getting this hot rod up with my buddies DLE 55RA powered mustang. I think I can take him on the stretch with my little ol' fifty :D.

Building a Servo Door and mount is what I would do. You never know if your going to need to get at it when its done. You can always put a bunch of hold down screws all the way around it to simulate rivet detail.

I have already been down that road. I just want to find another Edge 540 Like my old "purple". It was a Pilot V2 Edge 540. Flew it solid for over 5 years and made the huge mistake of selling it along with my EF104. The 104 I did not mind letting go. Too much speed and energy for my liking.
