    Yes the top of the cowl was the only piece that turned out well. I will take some pictures of the cowl in a bit to show the contours I was fighting with.

    The air bubbles were part of my problem, I used a pin or #11 blade slid in sideways but it was still a mess. Sometimes I had to pull so hard that the covering became thin and it would show.     Well got the cowl covered. Hated the way it came out so pulled the covering off and plan on changing the scheme. It was so bad I would not take a picture of it from embarrassment, it was that bad. And generally I am very good with monokote covering, I have worked with it for around 40 years...

    Snoop, lay a piece of narrow white covering over the point where the two oranges meet. Sometimes it helps to break up where colours are off from each other. If that works find a way a break the colours up.

    You were right, high heat and pull like crazy! Almost like you have to preshrink the covering before you lay it down. But once it is down it won't pull off. It's on there really good!

    Thank you I will try that, but not on high heat. I am quiet sure that would melt the cowl. It is very thin.

    Forgot about cutting the cobra vents in the sides of the cowl. Again very carefully with a dermal.

    Now on to covering after I fix all the workshop dings! It had many, not just from me do also from the guy that started building the fuse. We tried to match a paint to match the monokote green but it could not be done, so I am going to cover the cowl. Put a small piece of the monokote and ironed...

    Now to cut out the cockpit. There no template of any sort to do this so it is trail and fit. Same as the canopy.

    Next up was fitting the canopy. Was a bit nervous about this as you only get one shot at doing it right. But I have it to a perfect fit.

    Back at the plane again. Had to shape the two extensions for the cobra cowl. I did them in one piece, when I was happy with the fit I cut them very very carefully in half. They turned out good enough for me!

    That would be beautiful! Glad you made her (and you) happy! My mother was a 5 minute walk away from me yet I couldn't go in to visit her since March last year. Thank you for the comments guys. You know it could happen any day, you expect it to happen. But yet when it does happen it catch's you...

    Thanks Mike. Sorry to hear about your father. Two weeks ago for mother. She was 97 and lived a good life. But she has been in LTH's for the past three years and hated them. We could not see her since last March due to covid, that was very hard on her.
