The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

To keep the wheels off the floor in my trailer I just use a few sets of these Sulivan wheel chokes bolted in place where I need them. I also set a few planes on them in the house

I have been busy. I converted an old Dominator 200 (Lanier) from glow, (Norvel .074) to Electric for a friend, and For another guy, I converted an Ugly stick from glow to gas. I removed the top front of the fuse and added a hatch for convenience, it is now Sporting an Evo 15 first edition. Now I...

I have noticed many like to run filters in their plane's. I never have installed line filters in any plane glow or gas. The only filters I run are in my fuel jug and one in the fuel deliver line to the plane. Think about it any kind of restriction will make it harder for the carb diaphragm to...

I believe running engines dry stems back to the glow engine mentality. I never ran, or run any of my engines dry no matter what they are, glow or gas. Oh by the way, the people that did run all their glow engines dry were changing bearings quite frequently. When letting the engines sit for a few...

WOW there are some in every club, The guy that Yakman is referring to was telling one of our members to forget about flaring, and learning slow flight, just aim for the runway and land HAHA, you just can't help some people that seem to know more than every one else.

I started recovering the tail feather's on my 100 mph Sky Raider. Went out the other day to fly and all of a sudden the covering on the left side of the horizontal stab came up, and I could see the white on the inside, I fly the Sky Crapper 5 to 15 ft. high

    Iron-on coverings? Opinions?

I remember some 20 years ago, one of my students Pilot's called and wanted to bring over a plane he built from a kit. He was telling me he had a very hard time getting the Mono to stick to itself at the seams, after looking at it. I found that he had left the backing on it. I was very surprised...

    Iron-on coverings? Opinions?

I am sure most of you have had the color from the adhesive stick to your iron on occasion, when ironing down seams. Then have it transfer to another color not a pretty site. I found the best way to remove the colored adhesive from the iron is to clean it off with Dryer sheets FWIW

@stangflyer Nice flights guy's that is my favorite way to land in the wind. FYI here is what I add to all my biggies. I call it my Rudder skid plate, or spark arrestor, sure saves on covering and rudder repair, works great and when it gets worn out I make another, and go out and drag it down
