    Scale 35% Krill Extra 330SC....CUSTOM-ARF!!!

Some progress.....both sides of fuse "panels" done. Completely sanded off the first attempt where I used spot putty. Built them back up again with body FILLER and a touch of putty as needed to smooth. Also, fabbed up a mandrel and hammered out some aluminum fairings for the rudder cables, and...

    Cool Hangin’ in the Hangar

For the Pitts lovers! My Dad had this for a long time before he gave it to me. The artist who created it did a masterful job of welding up an S1S from small steel rods and sheet steel. Mounted on a nice piece of burl wood. This will pass to my son at some point in time.

    Scale 35% Krill Extra 330SC....CUSTOM-ARF!!!

Question for those with Bondo 2-part experience. On the pics I posted above I used the 2-part Bondo Professional spot putty/glazing compound to build up the panel thickness i desired (about as thick as a hotel key card). This stuff flows/spreads very smoothly, and sands easily. On the other...

    Scale 35% Krill Extra 330SC....CUSTOM-ARF!!!

Working on the fuse....simulating the panel joints and fabric covered areas below the turtledeck. Using 2-part Bondo to get a raised edge for panel overlaps. Applying it in 2 very thin coats to build an edge about the thickness of a plastic hotel room keycard. The most difficult area was the...

    Cool Hangin’ in the Hangar

My wife learned to fly in a Piper Cherokee 140. She went on to become a corporate jet pilot (now retired). A ways back I built a model for her birthday of the same Cherokee ....even managed to squeeze her in beside it! Found a nice plastic dome to keep the dust off.

    Cool Hangin’ in the Hangar

Some really nice stuff guys. Guess I'll add a bit to the collection. These photos of the late great Bevo Howard were signed by him to my Dad back in the day. I remember seeing Bevo when I was a kid. These hang on my shop wall now.

    New Product Pilot-RC New Pitts!

Yep...that's it. Looks like the rods pivot up and into slots on the canopy tabs. Guessing spring loaded to keep them in the locked position, or overcenter geometry to do it?

On the video....still doesn't show the canopy latching mechanism? Also would hate to try assembling that plane in windy conditions without a helper!!!

    Scale Pitts S1-T, S1-S, and a Challenger.

Also, once you get it secured with the clamps....hit them with you heat gun to soften the couplers and allow them to seat well with the pipes and clamps.

Nice looking bipe. I'm curious about the quick release canopy mechanism? Can't tell much from the web site pics.

    Scale 35% Krill Extra 330SC....CUSTOM-ARF!!!

Thanks, but really was thinking that the joint (beneath the paint) might show some stress cracking over time....which might lead to the paint doing the same thing. This plane is pretty much all fiberglass & gelcoat. It will get an automotive base/clear system.
