What are you guys lighting your Night Planes with?

http://www.topledlight.com/ I found this LED supplier which looks like it may be a good DIY alternative. I'm always good with saving money and building it myself. They have some dim able drivers if need be. I could just mount the lights to some carbon rod I already have and go to town. Or maybe...

What are you guys lighting your Night Planes with?

Hm, that's an interesting thought. Do you have any experience with other setups? The aurora kit is fairly pricey, but if it's a good quality set, I would probably buy it. If I could save some change and only loose some light, I would be totally down.

What are you guys lighting your Night Planes with?

I just got a call from the guy at the website, super nice guy. He informed me that his kits weren't quite up tot he task of illuminating my size of plane. He recommended me to Aurora RC. I'm looking there now...

What are you guys lighting your Night Planes with?

http://www.afterdarkled.com/products/airplanes/giant.html This is the kit I was trying to price. Something like this would be ideal, but I can't find any others anywhere else.

What are you guys lighting your Night Planes with?

I think I'm gonna stick some LEDs on my 100cc Pilot Extra and can't seem to figure out the best way to do it. I found a company off google called AfterDark L.e.d. with a good looking kit. I shot them an email for a price with no response after a week, so now I'm back to square one. I was...

    Glassing and Painting techniques

I found these yellow spreaders at a local auto shop hat have a lot of flexibility at the edge and corners. They would work perfect for something like that.

First time IMAC competition for club in central Oklahoma.

I hear ya man, life sure gets in the way of this sometimes. Sometimes I wish I was a loser with no life, and independently wealthy of course. Then I could fly all the time. I hope you can make it, but don't sweat it if you don't. We'll hopefully do this again annually from now on at this field.

I know exactly what you mean now. I have run into this before and never knew what to really do about it. I'll just be more proactive from now on.

First time IMAC competition for club in central Oklahoma.

We were thinking of putting on a contest at our field OMAC in August but after speaking with another local club, we decided to host one at their field (Baxter field) to promote the sport a little. I really wanna show these guys what it's all about with a really good contest and an equally great...

Thanks Snoopy. What are you using to move the air around? I just have a couple of box fans with regular house filters for now running straight across.

    Glassing and Painting techniques

After reading this thread, I'm pretty sure im gonna glass and paint my next IMAC ship. Of course weight isn't as big a deal when flying precision in my opinion. I think a couple of pounds would be ok. I absolutely hate covering a plane, and paint can look so stinkin good when done well.

The "low tack" trick sounds handy. I'm always so nervous to pull off the tape in fear of having paint come with it.

I have a couple of questions about masking tapes you guys use: which do you use, which work better?

    Glassing and Painting techniques

I always covered everything in my garage with plastic drop cloth. Cleaned, dusted, cleaned some more. Sprayed the ground with water and ran air filters and box fans to keep the air moving. Some jobs turned out pretty good, but there always seems to be stiff floating around that gets in my clear...
