What is the Dalton Extra SP?

I've heard a few guys talk about a Dalton extra that shares some of the characteristics of the Carden Pro, e.g. Thinner air foil, different canopy, etc. is this a real thing or is it just the ML plane on the website? I'm trying to decide on a plane for when I move up to advanced and this one...

July or August IMAC contest in Oklahoma?

To me it's looking like there is enough interest between this and facebook. I'm going to talk to the powers and try to get a date set, then I'll post to the other two places you mentioned.

    IMAC Build: Dalton Extra 300

Sub'd. I have a non-MEL dalton and I love it. I Wanted the MEL for IMAC but found a steal on this one. It tracks really well and actually does quite a bit of 3D even with my IMAC setup. That sucks that you don't have an iMac field near you.

July or August IMAC contest in Oklahoma?

I totally understand, I almost had to miss it myself because of a serious lack of free time around April. I hope we can get a few people together for this. We have a serious lack of contests in our region this year.

July or August IMAC contest in Oklahoma?

Hey guys, a couple of us at OMAC in Newcastle, OK http://omacflyers.weebly.com/ are thinking about putting on a second IMAC contest in either July or August to kind of fill the void during the summer. We had pretty low attendance at our April contest due to weather and would love to try again...

    Let's talk about Avgas (100LL)

Sorry, no updates yet. I only flew once since the last contest and didn't have time to change my fuel back out. I've been on vacation in Florida and will be back this weekend, so I'll try to fly one evening next week or next weekend. I'll be sure and run a tank of the 100ll, then let it cool...

My new pilot (parental guidance recommended...)

I haven't watched trailer park boys yet, I wasn't sure if it would be any good; I'll be sure and give it a try. Looks like we're going to need a GSN official "show us your pilot" thread.

My new pilot (parental guidance recommended...)

That's what I'm talkin' about.  I think when guys get their big scale planes, they want a scale pilot which is cool and all, but being different is more fun to me.  That being said, I do have a scale pilot in my IMAC plane, but that may change eventually. This hobby is can't be taken too...

My new pilot (parental guidance recommended...)

Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner.  I'm always trying do things differently. I get tired of seeing the same old planes and pilots everywhere. Example: Pistolera's pilot is bad ass. A little attention is always fun too, everyone that has seen it in person has gone crazy over it.  As far the why I...

My new pilot (parental guidance recommended...)

That he did... If I recall, he flew better without the head. His back has now been structurally reinforced with a nylon wing bolt.

    2015 Sequences

I gave the intermediate a try yesterday and the only maneuver I was having issues with was the p loop with the negative snap on exit; it's always a little unnerving to perform a neg snap after getting that much speed after pushing down low. The spin was relatively simple, you don't have to draw...

My new pilot (parental guidance recommended...)

In the end, he turned out a little smaller than I hoped, and I wasn't completely satisfied with the shirt we put on him. I went ahead and purchased the larger foam ball and am going to make another with a more scale size. I think I'll also put the yellow trademark hazmat suit on him out of...

My new pilot (parental guidance recommended...)

My awesome and beautiful wife did an excellent job painting him. I tried and quickly passed it off to her.        Notice a little of the "blue stuff" behind him... That is blue crack glass, no not that kind of crack glass, the kind you buy at a craft store.  We broke it up...

My new pilot (parental guidance recommended...)

Now on to the dremel rotary tool, one of those that I'm sure we all have, or should! As a disclaimer, my mother is an artist, my grandmother is an artist, I am not. This was very new territory for me, but I would say that for my first one, it came out pretty good.  In the end, I think I...

My new pilot (parental guidance recommended...)

I used a dremel Multi-Max (one of my all-time favorite tools) to cut the initial shape from one of those foam balls from a local craft store.         I cut the bottom off and turned it upside down to make for a suitable shoulder section.  This is where I wished I had spent the...

My new pilot (parental guidance recommended...)

For those of you who watched one of the best series ever made, "Breaking Bad", This is for you! "Special" blue stuff and all. Oh, and I guess I apologize in advance to any who are offended by this, I'm sure there will be somebody. I'll post the pics of his long journey to flight.

IMAC Dalton 300 ml build thread.

I guess I didn't explain that very well. When I measure with the ruler, it is from the table to the leading edge of the stabs/wings, and then the same at the trailing edge, at zero incidence, they will both be the same. .  I true up the ruler with a quarter square to make sure the measurement is...

IMAC Dalton 300 ml build thread.

Looking good Cam. I actually used the "bolt through the stab tube" method of attaching my stabs because I couldn't think of anything better at the time. It works fine, but I would probably do something different on my next one. As far as incidence goes; I'm probably the only person that does...

    Let's talk about Avgas (100LL)

I looked up the EME and its compression ratio is 7.6:1 which is definitely not enough to warrant the use of 100 octane fuel. I'll try some 89 or 91 in the future and see how the temps and ease of starting are. I was going to try his in my da 170 but think I'll steer clear after hearing of the...

    Let's talk about Avgas (100LL)

I also share a few doubts regarding the lead, but in reality, it's very low and I'm more asking about how it runs in our planes. Race gas would be another contender in this thread. The lead was the main reason we wanted to use it, there was the rumor of lower engine temps and the use of less oil...
