    Let's talk about Avgas (100LL)

To begin, I'm for and against the use of Avgas. I was turned on to it by a friend in order to lower our engine temps. He purchased an engine that was run on 100ll with quicksilver 100:1 and still looked new inside. So I figured what the hell; I couldn't find the right oil so I just stuck with my...

IMAC Dalton 300 ml build thread.

I'm really interested in seeing how the paint shoots. I've always used ppg and its a close but not perfect match, though it does shoot very well. It was also great meeting you at Sherman last weekend. I'll have my dalton flying again next year. We'll have to compare them at another contest.

    Prescription sunglasses

I forgot to mention, they are also polarized which I would highly recommend. It makes the radio screen difficult to read, but just take em off when you're programming.

    Prescription sunglasses

I wear Oakley prescription sunglasses when I fly with the red iridium lenses, I believe they are a rose color filter and they really make the colors pop out. They don't block as much light as black lenses, but it's sufficient and well worth the contrast you get when you look at your plane in the...

IMAC Dalton 300 ml build thread.

Monokote all the way for me. I've covered two giant scales in the last two years and one was with ultracote, and the other with monokote. The monokote went on much easier, and has a much better selection of colors. If you choose ultracote, it will be fine though, they're both good, I just prefer...

How did you get or come up with your user name?

Mine is actually a misnomer, I don't actually race bicycles... I just really like to ride them, except when there is 10 year old riding, then I totally race, and win most of the time :first:

    Who's getting a new iPhone 6 or 6 plus?

pawnshopmike, You are wise to have not updated it. I've had the 5 for about two years, and every time I update it, it gets a little slower and glitchier. I will likely never update my 6 unless it is just a big deal.

    Who's getting a new iPhone 6 or 6 plus?

Wow, I didn't even know there were any of those still out there, have you updated it in the last couple of years? I would be too afraid to in fear that the phone would turn into a slug.

    Who's getting a new iPhone 6 or 6 plus?

One thing I like is the image stabilization on the plus, I saw a demo video on yahoo comparing the camera of the 5s and 6 plus and the plus had a definite advantage when you were moving. Hopefully the phones will make it out Friday.

    Permatex

I know a guy that kepts breaking mufflers, turns out he was putting the liquid gasket on too thick; even though he was told not to... I completely agree with what everyone has said so far. I'm a Honda mechanic so of course I use the high temp silicone gasket maker (Honda Bond HT) that we use to...

    Roto Flow fuel tank

I had a conversation with a guy yesterday about this subject and he agreed that it was the lead that helps in the Avgas; I think I'll take a trip over the airport this week and see if they'll sell me some.

    Roto Flow fuel tank

Thats really interesting about the higher octane fuel. I'm a mechanic so I was always taught that you will lose power if you increase the octane because it burns slower. Then only time you need higher octane is when the engine has higher compression or other factors that require it. I have...

    Who's getting a new iPhone 6 or 6 plus?

I'll be buying the 64gb 6 for my wife and myself. I'm not really interested in the plus, I like phones a little smaller. I hope it lives up to the hype though. I had an android once and will never ever do that again.

    Roto Flow fuel tank

I saw one being used in a CARF at an IMAC contest and the pilot seemed to be pretty pleased with it. He even pulled it out and we all looked at it, seemed like a very good design; the rotating clunk is on some sort of bearing so it rotates extremely smoothly. I was thinking of getting one...

It Can Happen...and It can Happen FAST

You can't forget that any battery or setup can catch on fire. I buddy of mine lost his entire house to a car battery being charged in his garage overnight, which he had done hundreds of times. I think good common sense when charging ANY type of battery goes a long ways. Glad you caught it in...

    Rolling harrier spin

Thanks Ohio, I'll try to revisit that maneuver this weekend and see how it goes. I'll post something if I find any thing that makes it easier.

    Rolling harrier spin

Alright guys, I saw Bonedoc's video on this, but I can't seem to figure this maneuver out. Has anyone been able to do this with with any succession or have any tips? I'm flying a 107" pilot extra. Probably about 45° or so of each throw. My guess is I just need to practice it more and just get...
