The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Might add that I counted this morning. There are 48 signatures on the plane.

I have the 1.5m pod and boom Electric one. For simple get either the 1.5 or 2m one with the standard fuse. On the Electric version you may need to help a bit with the fiberglass work but that’s it. All wing joints get a little glass Work but really it’s the nose that is kind of tricky to do...

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

8 ounces will be more than enough fuel but I know someone else referenced possible issues with the clunk not moving very well in them for hard 3D flying. I would deff say use viton tubing in the tank on a smaller one as they are much more flexible and remain flexible unlike tygon that gets stiff.

It could be used on this but it would require changing up the slots on the cut parts. Also know that there could be a bit of tail twist with the smaller tube when the plane is rolling.

These are two power hd servos I totally trust. Quite a few guys in my club running them as well with no issues. KST makes a great servo. It’s what’s in one of my DLG’s and the glitter jr I have been building also has them.

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

I had the LF20's in the big 55cc version of this for a while and they did great but would start to get blow back at high speeds so they got upgraded to some nice Savox servos.

Yup. If looking for low cost look at either of these. They are a bit slower than a lot of things out there but I have used both with great success. Center great no slop and easy on the budget. http://www.valuehobby.com/radio-systems-servos/servos/power-hd-lf-13mg-servo.html...

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

In slower stuff the 770's will be fine but when you start carrying higher energy they will get blow back. They are the perfect servo for a 40 or 50 sized slab but once you get to the 60 size which would be 20cc or 120 two stroke glow they are a little lacking

I’m going out flying thread 2019

I plan to build another one at this point so I don’t destroy this one. I will be updating the plans and changing quite a bit to hopefully improve how it flys. Will keep everyone posted. Might even scale it up to 2200mah 3S size so it can have landing gear on it as well.

Certainly it requires a new build thread.

Took the old ChubCub out for some fun this morning. Boy I forgot how much fun it was. Only put one flight on it and I think that will be it. Time to build a new and improved one and hang this one up. Video will be up tomorrow. Don’t have my laptop with me today.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

A very rough piece. The fuse I assembled it with is a newer fuse I had built to change the way it flew some. That didn’t get sent off with the rest of the plane so I’m using it instead of risking the original as it’s in very poor shape.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Blast from the past. This is the very first plane I designed back in 2014. After flying it for a year it went on a world tour all over the US and even out of the states once to different probros. All that was asked was to get some pictures and video of them flying it and before they where done...

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

Have thought about it but would be a lot of work to me as then fuel lines would have to be disconnected when breaking the plane down. 10 ounces should be plenty. Last 20cc plane I had had a 12oz tank on it and I would make two 8 minute flights on one tank before filling back up and there was...

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

Hatches are easy. No thought involved really the way I do them. Just center it between R1 and R2. I like the front of it to be about 1/2” back from the main spar and on a plane that size I like it to be at least 3” square if not 4” square so there’s plenty of room to reach my hand inside. So...
