The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Just one quick cell phone video of my buddy making some passes after I maidened it. It’s fun. I need new batts though. Power was kind of lacking on 4S then when I switched over to 3S still using the 4S prop the power was almost the same as 4S but my 4S packs are probably 4 years old and haven’t...

Valid point and I reckon I could see how it flys without the stabilization using one of my 6 channel frsky receivers and if I feel it needs it then I can get one of the frsky SR8 receivers that has 3 axis stabilization built in and only cost $33 bucks.

She’s headed out to fly later today. Pretty sure I will be moving it over to my taranis in the near future though. With the stock six channel receiver the ailerons have to be on a y harness to be able to mix the flaps into full span ailerons thus limiting the amount of mixes I can do to it...

Got the Timber X operational this morning. Decided to set the wing aside and plug extra servos into the rx. As soon as I did both of them worked. Grabbed my servo tester and low and behold both extensions I tried yesterday where dead. What are the chances of that.

Yes I plan to check my p mix when I get home to verify. The one thing I find interesting is it only tells you to create one p mix for the flaps. Would have thought it would need two but my buddy that has the plane says his works perfectly with only the one.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Yeah on the timber x it can be setup with the flaps on a y and the ailerons on a y to function normally or you remove the y from the flaps so they can be mixed to the ailerons to give full span ailerons. I currently have it setup as one aileron channel and two flap channels. Like I said...

I will look into both those things when I get home tonight. Really would like to maiden it on Tuesday in the full span configuration.

Maybe somebody spektrum savy can help me out. Setting up my new timber x to have full span ailerons. It’s setup per the manual page below with flaps plugged into channels 5-6 and ailerons on a y harness on channel 2. You can see in the video that it shows the flaps both moving with the ailerons...

For a servo on each elevator it’s hard to beet the smart fly equalizer. Easy to setup and only uses one channel.

Not sure Snoopys reasons but it’s easier on servos especially if your radio can’t match servos through full range of motion.

It was easy to move the lights and well worth it to me since I will be flying it a lot at night. To make it pretty smooth I used my xacto to make a little flat spot on the le of the wing and also made a slice in the fuse so I could push the wires in and the hatch still close flag.
