November 05, 2018 Aeroscale parted ways with Kolm Engines Kolm engines are no longer offered through Vogelsang Aeroscale due to recent changes in Kolm sales and service philosophy. As you may or may not know by now there is new ownership at Kolm, there is a new company in place as well as new...

Discussion The I’m going out flying thread 2018

Down thrust is right on the money. Control throws are the same as when it had the Saito 180 on it. Flew and landed great. What has changed is the DLE 35 and the freaking Gail force winds. The Saito as you know is a beast motor. The 35 is pretty light. The Saito is just shy of 3 pounds, the 35 is...

Yup, can't agree with you more. I am pretty sure she is tail heavy. That will be changed soon. As for the travel? I believe the balance is affecting that a lot. On low rates, it actually did about the same thing. And believe it or not, I have 75% expo dialed in on those elevators on high rates...

So here we go. A few photos of the many landing attempts made today with Marie. Wow.... LOL As for the flight report? Not too shabby really. I taxied Marie around a bit to get re-familiarized with her ground handling. She really steers well and not too fast like the little Blue...

The newly re-glow powered trainer took to the skies today. I'm so impressed. I fueled it up, spun the prop and put the ignitor on the plug and she just idled to life. I was pretty shocked when that 70 Surpass ran so smooth and perfect. It's just like it had always been on that plane. Plenty of...

Weird! The 500 ZDZ quad for sale maybe? Saw that listed on other sites. I know why the link won't work here. Just tried to post the link from another site and it automatically changed to giantscalenews. Anyway, yes... "BIG"!! LOL

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Thanks.... I think it was bench ran one time. I am pleased it's as fresh as what it is. I do prefer the Saito, but a couple of reasons pushed me to the O.S.! First, I honestly wanted to try something different. The Saitos are great looking motors. But so is the O.S.! They both run awesome but...

The once glow powered then gasserized trainer is now once again Nitro powered. I spent pretty much the entire evening installing the O.S. 70 Max Surpass I bought a few weeks back into the trainer. Dang, she has had a rough life. Three engines and over 100 flights. Normally this would not be a...

I watched some videos of P-38's powered by Kolm 50cc singles. Nice plane. Cool sound. But just can't do a single cylinder. I must agree Doug, it would be a sound unmatched by anything in our hobby. Oh, and yes...."BIG"....REALLY REALLY BIG. I like 'em Big!!!

The "Dub" 4 cylinder would have been so sweet. I absolutely am in love with my 212. The sound is just incredible. My sons DLE 222 is just...well, it is throaty and deep. (Ummm, don't put those two words together reversed...Just sayin') But truly after admiring and listening to my friends Kolm...

That is too funny. LOL Great tip on the saw. I have a set of saws that has interchangeable blades. One being a saw blade similar to this. It works good, but I really think I like your idea much better.
