A new development on the Big Mustang today. I have been in contact with Erwin Muller who built his own prop reduction drive unit for his Focke Wulf 190 powered with a "dub" 110. At present, I am attempting to talk him into building a second to fit the Mustang. Long shot, but worth a try. Who...

I got a few irons out of the fire first thing this morning and decided to break out the prints of the DS Mustang. I decided to pin them to the wall in my hallway so that I could start looking them over and start familiarizing myself with the build. Wow!!! This thing is a monster. 98" from...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Not really this evening, but I did a lot in the house/workshop today to get things lined out so I could get the Velox done. Got things re-arranged for more room. I then decided to replace the instrument decal in the big 330. As some of you may remember, the late fall suns heat raised havoc with...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

You have heard of the "e-flite" Apprentice right? Awesome little foamy trainer plane. If only I had one of these when I taught myself how to fly, I probably would not have broken the little Goldberg Eaglet 50 in half or worse 7 times before I actually made a complete take off, flying a few...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Well that would explain it then! They are not known for being thrifty on fuel consumption. Still even so, a gallon a day is a lot of flying. That is the biggest reason I gave up all my big jug saito's and went to gas. The 20/20 blend here is around $40 per gallon. I just could not responsibly or...

16? As in sixteen (16) gallons? Dang Snoops, that is a heapin' helpin' of glow powered flyin'! Even when my son and I were flying nothing but nitro, and flew all the time, between us we probably didn't go through 4-5 gallons. Max! That is a bunch of flying!

I know the feeling. Yes, as a general rule I will usually burn between 15 to 20 gallons of fuel during the summer months. I am ashamed to admit that I have burned just shy of ten thus far. Far too many hours at work, and far too many projects this year. That is why I am doing "ONE" build for the...

    NEW Hitec Servo! HS-488HB

So what you are saying is, it is the only one with 25t spline and Allen screw?

My buddie here gave me one of these about 4 years ago. Never used it. I'm sure I will eventually. Super nice really. I usually fill my 5 gallon gas can, one full bottle of Redline, instant 40:1 mix. Done!

    NEW Hitec Servo! HS-488HB

You may want to ask @Xpress. But if I remember correctly, Hitec did in fact adopt the 25 tooth spline technology. And the allen head has also recently been added. Just increasing the ever popular Hitec servos to a more appreciated and desired servo.

Hey Bart...good to see you again. Really. Have not had time to get that far. I am really open to as many ideas and suggestions as you all have with this build. I am going to get my last iron out of the fire and finished up, then...this build will begin.

Now I'm really out of the blues. The "G" man sent me an email earlier today. Said the next shipment of Beast Dub engines will leave Germany next week. In this shipment will be a beautiful and bodacious, gorgeous and most voluptuous redheaded beast 110 for a certain Behemoth Stang. Happy dance...

I remember reading that thread. That guy is an absolute wizard at detail. Definately a masterpiece. I'm going to pass on the Kolm. I'm sure of that now. I dont want the extra weight and I don't want to fight getting service. Gerhard will let me know in the next day or so on the 110 availability...

Ummm, Noooo! LOL Thank you. I really do appreciate that. Yes, you are correct. They will still be available according to Gotz. They will continue with the 150 triple, the 155 twin and the 230 triple. But it seems now "ONLY" direct from Kolm or their new "vendor"???? At least that is what I got...

I honestly dont know what to do at this point. There are so many things to consider. First, I am able to purchase the 150 Kolm with starter but worry about the 16 plus pounds it weighs. Above that is the ability to get replacement parts or service. Though it is a brand new never seen fuel...
