    I don't have a torque wrench... so I use the lbs per fangers' gage. 30lbs/fanger'. 90lbs? Three fangers'. Got me, son? ;) hehe

    Yeah, I did that first thing, as well. I changed to a 4/40 bolt and lock nut. No red lock tite, though. haha

    I'd thought I'd check on my motor breakin'... after 12 gallons of fuel. Looks real good. The one piston has zero blow-by... the other had some blow-by on one side. I wiped it off with Super Clean and a paper towel.

    I'm replying to myself. haha After 50 flights, IMO, this IS the way to handle these vent openings. Fast, easy, stiffens the wood (no naughty, don't do it! haha), and LASTS.

    For you ZDZ-180 guys... I started out at 1-1/2 H and 1-1/2 L on the needles for my first flight. Now, after 10 gallons I'm at 1 and a 1/16 H and 1 and 5/16 L. So almost at the factory settings of 1 H and 1-1/4 L. Temp gun shows 170 average on landing. Same gun showed my DA-170 average 150F, but...

    Thanks, yeah, you can see in this video that it is a very dark plane, especially the bottom... but a lot of dark on the top, too. 10 years ago I wouldn't have noticed, but now I have a lot of trouble seeing to begin with.
