There is actually very little difference in flight characteristics, because the dimensions are very similar in lateral surface. The 540T has a longer canopy, but a shorter turtle deck The 540 Single seat has a shorter canopy, but a longer turtle deck

    Gluing removable stabilizers

It's fairly easy to remove the play of the tube in the sockets. You may consider modifying the way the stabs are secured to the fuse: Glue L brackets to the bottom of the stabs, and install blind nuts in the sides of the fuse.

    Gluing removable stabilizers

I remove my stabs every day except on the 35cc planes, and there is no problem. How are your stabs held in place? Is there a tab on the bottom with screws that go through them and into the fuse sides, or is it a screw that goes through the sheeting and through the stab tube?

    Is expo really needed.

It is all about personal preference....and ability! Some are so used to yanking the sticks around with little response, they would quickly reduce their plane into a pile of unrecognizable matter when the 3D rates are turned on. Others are used to quick response from the controls surfaces and...

I had a top and inner baffle: it was removed following Tony's suggestion when the engine was dying. I emailed the photos to Tony who though the cooling was too restricted. It never died again...

I also laughed at the ones that just had spontaneous implosions in the air!

    150-200cc Extra 300SP

James, your baffling should be fine, with the opening in front of the carb. I chase engine problem on my one of 100cc planes for a while: the cylinder temperature was fine, but it turned out that the carb was getting hot. After I opened some slots at the bottom of the cowl, it ran fine.

Airplane Cradles in the Shop, What works, what doesn't?

I may be the lowest tech of all: I use a couple of folding tables, covered with carpet: the planes get no scratch, the wheel don't roll easily, and when I need to flip it upside down, I rest the plane on the short side of the table; the plane rests on the flat upper top plate, between the cowl...

Both videos are of Ken's airplane: he used the 85 to show how well this plane can fly with that smaller engine. Then the batteries were mouted in the front for proper CG. I had a DA-100 in

Short answer is yes; there are a couple of videos out there, but most eloquent is this one: Keep in mind that this one is powered by just a DA-85.

    Pull pull or Push Pull

Pull-pull and push pull both work fine The ideal push-pull system is two servos, one pushing when the other pulls. This set up is more critical than pull-pull, as the geometry and programming has to be perfect in order to avoid one servo fighting the other at all points of the travel. Single...

The Velcro works (fuzzy side). We also do not recommend a single push-pull servo in the tail: each time you are pushing, it is like trying to unhinge the rudder which is large; the resistance from the hinge is what makes it turn. That requires very strong hinges, and the plastic hinges can...
