The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

By today's standards a 375 horse 396 isn't really fast, but for 1968 it was. It's still a lot of fun. For good old fashion old school naturally aspirated fast this 68 Nova here does the trick. It belongs to the same guy that owned the blue one I posted earlier. Contrary to the license plate...

That would be sacrilegious!;) Rally wheels need white letters. Like this one I did a few years ago.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

I knew the prop was going to come with a 2 o'clock drill, but the spinner being drilled was a complete surprise.:)

Not airplane related, but it is what I did in my Workshop today. A 68 Super Sport Nova we've been restoring for way to long, but it's getting really close now. Still have some trim and things to install, and waiting for the guy to bring the wheels and tires.

    1/4 scale P40 Warhawk

I like that you have the center section on the fuselage, that way the gear stays with the fuse.:way_to_go:

The GP61 is the same also. @HRRC Flyer if you end up buying a new spinner, Tim at Northwest RC will drill it for you if you get it from him. He just did the prop and spinner I got from him the other day. I even bought a new DA120 drill guide from Taildragger and haven't had to use it.;)

Depends on if you want a center bolt or one that screws around the edge.

Oooooh Pretty! JTEC was the only game in town for mufflers for those early on. Might still be.

I consider myself a reasonable tech savvy guy for my age, but sometimes the programing of some devices can really suck because the instructions, if there are any, are clear as mud. The first Beast X helicopter setup I did had me scratching my head for quite awhile. It's easy now, but the first...

F-4D Phantom II (Freewing EDF jet)

I've flown the Mig21, Stinger 90, and F86, all great airplanes.

Two if the three Avanti's in the club of died from Pilot error. One flew his right into the ground last Sunday, and the other guys error was picking the wrong guy to do the first flight for him. He chose poorly. I have the book about the fire, "Sailors To The End" but I haven't read it yet.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

My new 28 x 9 1/2 Falcon prop and 5" Ultimate spinner from Northwest RC arrived yesterday. I ordered the prop with a 2 o'clock drill which Tim does for free, but was shocked to see he drilled the spinner too! That saved me some work and potential headaches. Since it doesn't use a center bolt and...

    Awesome Video Thread

Here are a few cool videos. The first one is very similar to one I posted when I started this thread 2 1/2 years ago. Same pilot and music, but a different airplane. The second is a Carf Strega P-51 with a Kolm........... THE SOUND!!!!!

Well you'd need a hundered or so inches in length. That might be a tall order for those.

    An Oldie But A Goodie

That's cool! It's awesome to have great friends. That is how I got back into flying in 2011. My buddy Tony came by the house with a nearly new JR 9503, Duralite batteries, and 5 Hitec servos. A few days later a guy in the club had an Aeroworks Yak54 with a DA50 and tuned pipe and no electronics...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I have no brand loyalty anymore. And for me that's a big thing since I've had LOTS of cars. I bought, fixed, drove and sold (in today's slang, flipped) Camaros, Chevelles, Novas, Corvettes and many Chevy trucks and others for many years. I owned more than 25 cars before I was 25 years old. I've...
