Any wax and grease remover should work, and alcohol should work fine as well.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I haven't done any airplane work in the shop lately since all of my airplanes are ready for flying season, and I don't have all the parts I need to start on new projects. So, basically I've been bored, so I decided to work on some plastic models I've got laying around. I decided to build a 67...

    Scale Plans built P-51

Is the three piece wing the stock Nosen design? A fellow club member has one he bought at a swap meet and has been changing to electric. He's recently come to the conclusion the plane is too much for him. I've seen the fuselage, and it's pretty rough, but I may try and talk him out of it. I've...

I was planning on doing a build this winter, but it didn't work out. All my airplanes are ready to go so I haven't been working on anything.

Yeah it's not fair, the older I get the more I hate the heat and the cold.

We've been in a drought here, but it's rained so much in the last week or so that the next guy that says the word drought to me gets a swift kick in the bean bag.;)

That's odd. I've had PDFs without any problems. I do always add a circle on the sheet in a certain size so I can check the accuracy of the print. There is a freeware program called cutewriter that acts like a printer but outputs as a PDF file. I use that a lot, just make sure it's set to full...

Discussion The I’m going out flying thread 2018

That sounds like the weather we've been having around here lately. I flew Sunday on a very nice mid 50's and sunny day, and it was snowing the next morning when I left for work. We're repeating that cycle today. It was a very nice day again yesterday, and it's cold as hell right now.

Help! What size tank for 50cc Yak54

If what you have from McMaster-Carr is Durometer 60A your fine, if it's the 75A it's too hard.

Help! What size tank for 50cc Yak54

No doubt, just makes sure you get the correct Viton. The stuff from PSP is awesome. The Durometer rating is the key. 60 or so is good, but 75 is to hard and can split at the fittings.

Discussion The I’m going out flying thread 2018

It was a really nice day today for January. 52, sunny, and almost no wind, so I had to go flying. I was too lazy to drag out a gas airplane, so I took my Mig 21 and my Trex550e helicopter. Any time you can fly around here in January is a good day!

Real beef can be a pretty vague description. That just means it came from someplace on a cow, not necessarily a place you really want to eat from.;)

Sport The Kool Kanary (Giant Hot Kanary)

I've been known to run the heat and an air conditioner at the same time in my shop to get the humidity out and get the temperature right. Not very economical, but repainting costs a lot more.
