    Static and Monokote

I will Rob, kinda of getting pissed about the covering. Flying season is here and I need to practice for IMAC. I'm going to have to fly something else for now. The Deitrich is going to have to wait now! P.S. You know of anything else other than Topflights adhesive activator for Monokote? Any...

    IMAC hobby getting expensive

I know what you are talking about dimes selling your used stuff, but I got a feeling you are like me. I worry that the buyer will not be happy. But I know in my mind he got a deal. I think you, like me are a honest person and what ever you sell you make sure that the buyer knows all the facts...

New tail wheel assembly! Made for the plane. Got 7 of the 9 servos it needs. Most of the electronics but still waiting for some of the covering!!

    Static and Monokote

Anyone come up with a way to reduce the static charge when peeling the backing from a piece of Monokote? I'm working on some covering for my Slick, I peeled the backing from one piece and stood and watched some sawdust travel about 4 feet across my bench and stick to the covering! At first I...

    IMAC hobby getting expensive

And if you are willing to fix and repair a used plane, a lot less than half price. Many guys just don't have the time to repair a crash and just go out and buy another ARF. Some times its an easy fix to get them flying again when you have the time. Totally agree this hobby can be as pricey or...

    IMAC hobby getting expensive

And you are talking new. If you are willing to wait for GOOD used planes, motors, etc. You can knock another grand off of that as well. Up to you if you need the latest and greatest...

    IMAC hobby getting expensive

I totally agree with Mike, its far cheaper to get started in this hobby now than it used to be. Around 1979 I paid $600 for a 4 channel AM radio!

    bizarre issue with airplane

I'm no expert, but if it was the pot in TX would it matter if the engine was running or not? Just trying to learn from Brian's problem.

    IMAC Dietrich 42% Slick rebuild.

I closed up hinge gap a bit on the rudder, since the plane is being kept for IMAC I kept the throw at 40 degrees per side. If I ever wanted to increase the throw it would be a bit of work but simple to do.

Move is done, plane made it here in one piece! Have the motor for it, A used DA 150, also used KS 90 canisters. The canisters have many bumps and bruises but still in good working order. Finished pinning the motor box, still need the nuts and bolts to bolt it together. A friend is making me a...

    3D Frankenstein Edge 540!

Thanks Jim, I'm thinking about trying it on a ARF cowl, so it is painted. Maybe I should get the sandpaper and elbow grease out and remove the paint first!? It will not work on paint, why? To smooth to adhere? Or does the paint become soft?

    3D Frankenstein Edge 540!

I really like the idea of just using covering on the cowl! Have you done this before and how does it hold up? If it works good it would save me many concerns, like getting paint to match the monokote I plan to use. I'm good covering with monokote but was always leery of putting it on a...

Russian plane Graveyard from the Sky - Pretty Bad ASS!

Every time I see one of these "bone-yard" vids it makes me sad. Seen one where the WW2 fighters by the 1000"s where sitting waiting to be cut up. Stacked like cord wood. One about a 200 or so Corsairs sitting in a field full of farm animals. Why didn't we keep more of them at the time? So sad....
