I should add that it added very little weight. I did weigh the rods before I put them in, but forgot to write it down :very_angry:

    IMAC Dietrich 42% Slick rebuild.

A another problem with this plane is that it had a very weak rudder post. I put two carbon rods down thought the top into solid balsa under the post. With the smaller rod I cut teeth into the end, put it in my drill and very slowly let it eat its way though the foam core into the solid balsa...

    Desert Aircraft vibes

Sometimes I wonder about "boxing" or stiffening the motor box right back to the wing tube to let it carry the vibes right to the wings ,that would make it better able to release the vibration, or energy. From what I have seen is most motor boxes are built solid to the firewall, but after the...

    Desert Aircraft vibes

Is it possible that the motor is ever so slightly twisting the motor box and releasing that energy to the rest of the plane?

Ya, $1300 for you but $1750 plus tax for me up here in the land of the Beaver. Plus I am keeping this plane for IMAC, she don't need that much under the hood!! And I really want to get my first DA, would rather pay extra for something that has great service and can be repaired if need be.

Ya Stang, would you believe that WAS the way I was removing the covering! Using my heat gun getting it really warm and it still came off like that. I think because the covering was so old or that it was cheap covering I couldn't win. Thanks tho!
