Yes....unless it's a very good photo it is hard to tell. The first time I saw an Extra 330SC up close and personal was when I realized that the lower fuse from the cockpit back was fabric covered. Until then I had assumed they were aluminum panels. Of the tons of photos I have of this plane...

Don't know about the original, but it's common practice on cloth covered airframes. Even the modern Extra 330SC has some fabric covering....and it's pinked over the frame members. You can see it on this shot.

Looks good! Gonna do pinking tape over the frame members?

Scale 25% Krier Kraft build, a tribute to grampa.

You're welcome! A Great Lakes would be very cool, and a rarely modeled bipe. My Dad taught me basic aerobatics in a modern Great Lakes (Lycoming powered). Growing up he had one with a 185hp Warner radial, but that was before my flying adventures began.

Roger.....being a complete dummy about these sorts of things.....can you give us your thoughts as to how this system differs from the Sbus systems (again of which I know nothing)? Thanks!!!

Scale 25% Krier Kraft build, a tribute to grampa.

Lastly....(maybe)......little did I realize, back when I was a young lad tagging along with Dad and my brother to airshows, that I would someday be involved in competition aerobatics. My connection with the late Harold Krier culminated in 1988 with the honor of having my name engraved on the...

Here's a photo from a great book, "They Call Me Mr. Airshow", by Bill Sweet. This is Charlie Hillard landing the Krier Kraft....canopy is slid back.

OK..... first is this fabulous framed print of Harold flying his Great Lakes. The original oil painting was done by R.A. Benjamin in 1982 and is signed by the artist........unfortunately not by Harold, who died in 1971.

Scale 25% Krier Kraft build, a tribute to grampa.

I was fortunate to grow up in a family that was aviation oriented. My Dad was a fan of all the late great aerobatic pilots, Harold Krier being one of them. I have had the pleasure of seeing Harold fly, although I was just a youngster at the time. Going thru some of Dad's (now mine) library a...

    Scale Pitts S1-T, S1-S, and a Challenger.

My comments refer to a STOCK S1-T......all of those things are changes from the S model. These were generally the most significant external changes from the S. The higher horsepower Lycoming AEIO-360 (200hp) with prop governor was the biggest internal change. If your Eagle doesn't have the...

    Scale Pitts S1-T, S1-S, and a Challenger.

Wing placement forward of the S, no cutout in top wing, pressure cowling, cowl flap, symmetrical ailerons, spades on lower ailerons, larger spinner to cover the constant speed prop, slightly different nose bowl shape, slightly larger rudder.

Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

Hah...yeah, at the time I needed a longer arm and didn't have one handy so bolted the longer one (that wasn't the correct spline size) to the smaller star-shaped one.
