It's like anything that's 'no longer produced'......when you find a new/different supplier you jump all over it before it too is, 'gone, gone, gone'

Robert, glad to hear you got yours Just gave them a ring and was told, "You guys hit us hard with that one....yours are next on the list, probably two to three weeks out"....well at least I've got that going for me! Bill

Discussion How I prep for smoke!

Robert...sorry wasn't downgrading your post, was very glad to see that you shared the method with everyone.....was sharing the experience I had with that method working even on a much smaller scale (byro-drive powered only by an OS 61)....Bill

Discussion How I prep for smoke!

Robert, The guy who taught me how to fly in '79 used that same technique on a Byron's Pitts belt-drive setup.......his smoke was truly heavy-duty and he had little, if any, residual oil on his airframe. The nice thing about your setup is that as the pre-heat temperatures get hotter you should...

    News Joe Nall 2019 thread

Robert, Sorry to hear that Nall is off for you this time around....was hoping to get some additional flight reports on the AW 150 Ultimate....hope you're feeling better an can get out there in the Fall Bill

If I had to buy them I would have probably passed as well but seeing as they came with the electrified version of this plane that I bought I thought it was a good deal

This is what they looked like when the airframe originally came out

Robert, Did you have the option to purchase the Revoc wingbags in the red/black/yellow colors of the airframe itself? Bill

    AeroWorks 150cc Ultimate

Robert, Thx for the update on the gear....I was just about to call them to check on any progress. Hoping they don't give up, as they're pretty much the only source that I know of for this landing gear Bill

    AeroWorks 150cc Ultimate

Been spending a lot of time at my daughters' house helping out with her boys (2 and 6) while she's dealing with some health issues and her husband works, so lots of things are on hold right now. But as much as I love RC my family will always come first so it's not a big deal to me!

Robert, Ouch, just from your description of the surgery my mouth is aching......hope your recovery goes well and you're out flying sooner than later Bill

    AeroWorks 150cc Ultimate

Robert, Based on how the firewall and everything is locked together I believe that it was made specifically for the quad.....stand-offs are roughly 2 1/4"....plus ~1/2" for each wood mount (front and back). Not thrilled with the setup but it works. Concern I have now is for the overall width...

Did some work and got the DA-150 mounted.....will put it on the side for a while to work on my H-9 Ultimate as it's ARTF other than changing out rudder servos in tail for pull pull setup

    AeroWorks 150cc Ultimate

No Robert...yours never was owned by anyone, factory new I'm speaking about the one I'm now working on...purchased it from a gentleman in Nevada but declined the 4 cylinder, as I always thought it was just too much Bill

    AeroWorks 150cc Ultimate

Robert, I think because the original owner had the big-arse 4 cylinder installed (~12.5 lbs) he needed all the help he could get in the tail to balance it out... Since the servos he used (and which I'll continue to use) are Hitec 7980's, with ~1100 oz/in of torque for the pair, and I'll be using...

    AeroWorks 150cc Ultimate

Robert, I went back through your thread and saw that you've got a '3-ganged' servo setup on the rudder......any particular reason you went with this versus servos in the tail on each side of the fuselage? The latter method is how the original owner of my Ultimate has it setup but I've never...

Robert, What length servo arms did you use on your control surfaces?
  18. Hinckley Bill

    AeroWorks 150cc Ultimate

Going to have to add ~ 3 1/2" of 'motor mount' because the original owner had a 3W212 quad installed on it so he of course needed a much shorter motor box

    AeroWorks 150cc Ultimate

You've got me motivated Robert....working on one of mine in the basement now.....our weather is anything but conducive to flying, at least for the next couple of weeks!

Robert, You'll be in my prayers my friend and after He's made sure that you're doing okay we'll have to get together again 'down south' to fly our AW Ultimate's together! Bill
