    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

@320CKA This is before I had everything finished, but you get the idea of the wheels and Xcub gear. This is the 7” airtops with the 6” dubro rims, reamed out for 8mm and painted black to look more scale like. Also, how I did my Xpwr motor with the blazing star stand offs. Works like a Charm...

no, they don’t fit stock, you’ll have to ream those out as well. I was the one who used the blazing star standoffs and it worked flawlessly! I love this setup. So easy to do and very strong.

welcome to the thread! This is definitely the place for the build. I am using the 7” airtops. I modified the smaller rims from my 6” Dubro bush wheels. I reemed out the center hole to fit the larger axles that come with the Xcub gear. It looks much better than the rims that come with the...

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

I finally had a chance to maiden my Timber after having finished it a week ago and then nothing but crappy weather kept me grounded. she is fun so far. Lots of adjusting on the expo and rates, but handles good. I definitely need to try a lighter battery. She is too heavy to STOL and be nimble in...

Wow! That was really awesome of you to do, Nick! Thanks, those numbers really help give me a better window of where to be. I am currently balanced tail level with wire running off the wing spar which is exactly 4” from leading edge.

Thanks for that info. You aren't running the Xcub landing gear and the upgraded bush wheels either, right? @AKNick what did your all up flying weight come out to? Thanks! -Clint

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

I can’t remember if I asked you this already, but what did your flying weight come in at? I just weighed mine and WOW! it came in at 21.5! I wasn’t expecting that. I was hoping for much lighter! Aside from the Xpwr motor and the Xcub landing gear, I built it to spec.

@AKNick How did you guys do your weight? I figured out how to balance it using some wire and a PVC pipe wrapped around the spar tube and hang it from that, but how on earth are you weighing this huge thing? It won’t fit on a traditional scale. thanks!

Glad to hear your review since I will be running the same motor. two questions: 1. How did you end up snaking your ESC battery lead up to the cockpit where you plug it in to the battery? 2. Why did you choose to run such large capacity Lipos for your servo/RX? Why not run a smaller LiPo for...

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

I was literally just about to ask the same question. I just mounted my motor yesterday, (those blazing star stand offs worked like a charm!) I’m glad I’m not the only one asking all the questions! My gear still seem so stiff! I’m already thinking of ways to modify it with piston shocks or...

gotcha! no offense at all. I am trying to find out more info from the guy who did it and how it is working out for him. Here is the thread I have been on where he suggested doing it that way...

Thanks for the advice guys. A dude over on RCGroups posted about mounting his Xpwr 40CC motor using the Blazing Star stand-offs like the picture here. I am going to go that route as it seems the easiest and he says it fits perfectly. Thanks!

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

@Snoopy1 Hey man, with the Xpwr 40CC did you have to do major changes to the motor box/firewall to get that motor to fit? It's weird cause there are the bolts sticking out of the back of the motor that hold the mount on which won't allow it to sit right up against the motor box. Just wondering...

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

@AKNick , @Snoopy1 Alright, guys! Sorry I keep asking questions that seem perhaps dumb, but I haven't built/worked on a plane this big nor a motor or prop of this size, so some of this stuff is slightly different for me. I got my Xpwr 40cc motor in today as well as the Xoar 21X10 prop and...
