    DLA Engines

On the 128 we tried a 25x12 falcon 3 blade and a 26x12 mejzlik 3 blade and the engine was much happier with the 25x12. When our friend gets his new engine I think I will break out some of my DA-100 props and give them a try.

Need your help fellows - fighting elevator on final

yeah, realistically on the cap you should be balancing it inverted because upright you are fighting the pendulum effect, that is why I asked about what the manual said. Is the balance roughly 33% back from the leading edge?

Need your help fellows - fighting elevator on final

When they give you the cg point in the manual are you supposed to measure it with the aircraft upright or inverted?

Need your help fellows - fighting elevator on final

How does the airplane do on a downline with no power, does it pull to the canopy or belly? Do you have any type of low throttle to elevator mix for a downline? You seem to have symptoms of both cg and/or thrust so I would suggest starting with cg first and making sure that is correct before...

    AJ Laser color scheme

yeah the bottom scheme on the competition version is the same. I will tell you the competition scheme shows up very well in any sky, that is why Andrew has used that scheme on his personal airplanes for years.

    DLA Engines

that must be due to some of the internals in the ignition because when I worked at DA our ignition did not give a hotter spark for a voltage change.

    Please Support the 2016 XFC!

I totally agree and I hope my previous email did not seem to discredit them or there ability in anyway because they are all extremely good pilots and for the ones I personally know they are even better people! Herve, don't forget Gabby! (as if you could, LOL) He is certainly one of those...

    Please Support the 2016 XFC!

Corporate sponsors outside of the industry seem to be really hard to break through to and I think you just need to know the right guy. It is certainly not for lack of trying. I know the Shootout, XFC and a couple of other events have tried really hard to do this and not really had any success...

    Please Support the 2016 XFC!

In general I tend to agree with that statement and not just for the XFC. I am sure my view is different then the average modeler because I am around r/c everyday but to me it feels like over the last several years we have kind of hit a wall when it comes to competitions in general. You can...

    Aileron throws

by not having both the same you are actually adding differential to the airplane and that will certainly effect how it rolls. For some airplanes that is not a bad thing though, especially if the wing is below the thrust line. Next time you are flying pay attention to your rolls and see if they...

Gasser Throttle Servo, What Do You Like?

I have been using futaba 9650's on my throttles for everything the last few years. They are pretty fast, they center well, and are low profile.

    DLA Engines

I think the bowman rings are probably not a bad idea. My dad did talk to our friend that bought the 128 I flew and it appears that the crank twisted. They are going to replace the engine for him but unfortunately they are out of stock so he will be down for a little bit. From the conversation...

That sounds like a much better idea!

    DA-70 Exhaust

Since it is a 2n1 setup you may actually see some issues but unfortunately there really is no way of knowing without running it. When a 2n1 is wrong you can sometimes see transition issues, erratic idle, and loss of power. When I worked at DA we tested the DA100 years ago with a 2n1 and that...

    DLA Engines

We are probably going to do a 2n1 standard type muffler setup on his when he gets it back because we found with testing the DA-200 that having one single outlet pipe like the stock 2n1 mufflers actually restricts a lot and you can loose a couple hundred rpm. Ultimately I don't think I would...
