Muffler Info
If they have pressure nipples you don't need to remove them, you may get a little exhaust in the engine area but probably not much. yeah, vacuum bagging the foam parts is certainly not required when building the airplane as you can do a great job with just weight. I am obviously going to be biased but the 2.7m CS version is by far the best precision 35% airplane that I have ever flown. It is one of those airplanes that flies bigger then it is and is very comfortable to fly. When I fly the 2.7m I never feel that I am at a disadvantage compared to a 40%...- Kevin-Young

Nope, that is Roger Crooks 2.7m Extra 300CS done in pretty much the same scheme as Jerry's but with blue instead of the charcoal which Jerry used. It does fly really well. Roger is also building the prototype 2.8m MX2 which hopefully will fly in the next couple of weeks.- Kevin-Young

Time for a new brand/stuck on two
Jason, generally a canister or tuned pipe will shift the cg back a bit and make an airplane tail heavy. As for the airplanes you are looking at, all I can say is both companies would be on my short list for ARF's that I would recommend and both are run by some great people.- Kevin-Young

the rudder on the 3.1m is actually the same as it was on the 3.2m black/white/gold one that Jerry had (that is where we first tested it), some guys just do not round the bottom the like full scale version. On my extra's (both old version and new) I rounded the rudder like the full scale ones...- Kevin-Young

The funny thing is Jerry, My dad, and I look at that plane and say how ugly it was (not the scheme but the fuse and shape). DA 60 Sound Levels
That basically works out to be the same formula the AMA uses just at a different distance. AMA uses the standard of 96db over grass at 10ft (3m). At your distance that works out to be about the same formula, here is a link to a calculator I found for figuring out the formula...- Kevin-Young

Larry, What is the distance that they are measuring your sound at? 90db is awefully low at the standard AMA measurements and most of your canisters would not meet that so if you can provide the distance you measure at and also what you measure with the proflow can we may be able to give you...- Kevin-Young
