    2015 Basic Written Call Sheet

Where do you live?  Maybe someone here will know a club close to you that is a bit more active.  Having someone to fly with will make the learning process a lot easier and you will improve a lot faster because it is hard to correct mistakes you don't know your making if you are flying on your...

    Muffler Info

If they have pressure nipples you don't need to remove them, you may get a little exhaust in the engine area but probably not much. If you do choose to remove them, just replace them with a short screw, use a little thread lock to keep them from backing out.  That way if you every decide to use...

IMAC JTEC/ Radiowave 3.1m competition series

yeah, vacuum bagging the foam parts is certainly not required when building the airplane as you can do a great job with just weight.  I actually sheeted two rudders last week and just used weight and the sheeting turned out great.  Some of the best builders I know use just weights when sheeting...

    IMAC Written Call Sheets

I saw some requests for written call sheets for the 2015 IMAC sequences so I went ahead and wrote most of them out for everyone to use.  For the classes that have directional items I have made a generic version, the left to right version, and a right to left version.  So far I have the Basic...

    2015 Basic Written Call Sheet

I have most of the other classes written out but it looks like I can not upload here on GSN for everyone so I will also make them available on our website (www.jtecrc.com) once I get them done and double checked.  Also some of the other classes have some directional things based on wind so I...

IMAC JTEC/ Radiowave 3.1m competition series

I am obviously going to be biased but the 2.7m CS version is by far the best precision 35% airplane that I have ever flown.  It is one of those airplanes that flies bigger then it is and is very comfortable to fly.  When I fly the 2.7m I never feel that I am at a disadvantage compared to a 40%...

Nope, that is Roger Crooks 2.7m Extra 300CS done in pretty much the same scheme as Jerry's but with blue instead of the charcoal which Jerry used.  It does fly really well.  Roger is also building the prototype 2.8m MX2 which hopefully will fly in the next couple of weeks.

Time for a new brand/stuck on two

Jason, generally a canister or tuned pipe will shift the cg back a bit and make an airplane tail heavy. As for the airplanes you are looking at, all I can say is both companies would be on my short list for ARF's that I would recommend and both are run by some great people.

the rudder on the 3.1m is actually the same as it was on the 3.2m black/white/gold one that Jerry had (that is where we first tested it), some guys just do not round the bottom the like full scale version.  On my extra's (both old version and new) I rounded the rudder like the full scale ones...

IMAC JTEC/ Radiowave 3.1m competition series

The funny thing is Jerry, My dad, and I look at that plane and say how ugly it was (not the scheme but the fuse and shape).  That airplane did teach us a lot about the design features we wanted to incorporate into all of the new designs though.  It was a huge leap from the ARF's and a good...

The windex trick is actually really easy but only works for those using Monokote because the chemicals in the windex react with the glue in the monokote. Basically what you are going to do with your stripe or second color that you are laying over the first layer of monokote is apply the...

    DA 60 Sound Levels

That basically works out to be the same formula the AMA uses just at a different distance.   AMA uses the standard of 96db over grass at 10ft (3m).  At your distance that works out to be about the same formula, here is a link to a calculator I found for figuring out the formula...

    DA 60 Sound Levels

Larry, What is the distance that they are measuring your sound at?  90db is awefully low at the standard AMA measurements and most of your canisters would not meet that so if you can provide the distance you measure at and also what you measure with the proflow can we may be able to give you...
