Hey guys...been a couple weeks or so since posted any more progress on the Big Extra...with the exception of a Fuel Dot arriving tomorrow in the mail it is finally done! I have only gotten the rudder and Elevator servos install and linkages set up in the 42% Extra and I don't have any play, infact just the opposite, I think between my choice of servos and the linkages there is almost no slop. Well, this week after getting a recommendation that I shouldn't use Nyrod so close to the mufflers (makes sense...not sure what I was thinking!), i changed over to CF rods. Also this week accomplished a little more and installed the rudder push/pull servos, modified Jason Danhakl's Foutitude...- Greg Alderman

Made pretty good progress in the shop last night on the big Extra, installed and set up throttle and choke servos, also installed ignition modules and the Jeti temp sensors for each cylinder. Tyler, this will be a IMAC only plane so a "little" bit of weight won't be as much of a penalty as if a freestyle plane, but yes the finished baffles all up weight was just under 9 oz. But I am quite sure the benefits of the cooling will out weigh the extra weight.- Greg Alderman

OK, got motivated yesterday and have the baffling pretty much ready to seal and paint. I need to cut the throttle/ choke servo openings and any other Ignition, etc routing holes in the motor box then will seal and paint the entire motor box/ baffles. I wont bore you all with more pictures...- Greg Alderman

3DHS 91" Yak 55
Extreme Flight sells one for there 50cc yak...like $11. I bought one for my Yak and just didn't like the way it was going to look, mainly because it didn't fit well. Ended up just making my own. Thought about using Balsa strips to make it look like cooling vanes but just ended up painting it...- Greg Alderman

BJ, As any other cowl, the bottom has an opening...the nice thing about Herve's cowls...he puts a lip where the opening will be...this causes a venturi effect and causes the bottom of the cowl to be a low pressure area and of course the air ramming into the upper sealed portion of the cowl is...- Greg Alderman

While I am here...has anyone had any issues with this Krylon Brand being used for Motor Box sealing and Paint? Gas Proof? I have always just used thinned down finishing resin...but have seen a lot of people paint the motor box area with textured paint and liked the look...- Greg Alderman
