    Syncronizing/Balancing Multiple Servos

At least with my JR brushless servos a current meter is pretty useless. The current draw is so low it is very difficult to find a bind. I balance by eye with my brushless servos. One servo connected and one not. I match up the bolt hole to determine binding.

JR 28X, what is the BALANCE feature ?

I will have to wait till I get home late tomorrow to look.

JR 28X, what is the BALANCE feature ?

It is under different name. I cannot remember the title and I won't be back till tomorrow to look. The symbol does look similar to the dual rate menu. It will be a graph once you enter

    Syncronizing/Balancing Multiple Servos

With Arfs the exact distance numbers always seem to be a little different. Thats why a custom build plane would likely be easier to set up. I usually don't do any measuring. I eye ball it where the arm is parallel or close to the hinge line and set in my turnbuckle. Thats where I just use my...

    Syncronizing/Balancing Multiple Servos

with being able to program the servos swapping the arms probably is not even needed. Once geometry is set and even double checked you should not need to reprogram. Maybe move the arm a tooth to get the arm to hinge line close. Servo balancing is still nice. Im thinking a kit plane properly built...

    Syncronizing/Balancing Multiple Servos

ive tried that with Hitec servos when I used to use them. The downfall I found with that was binding in the range of travel. Unless the geometry is correct you get binding. After a while I ended up just setting up proper geometry

    Syncronizing/Balancing Multiple Servos

The unihubs make it really easy because you rotate the hub to find the best center without having to have several different arms. I also use either a H9 amp meter ore fromeco quad meter to balance the servos if needed. I also love using the screw style control horns with a clevis because you can...

    Syncronizing/Balancing Multiple Servos

Since I went with the airwild unihubs everything went way easier. But prior I would have several different servo arms. First I would fit an arm and use my H9 angle meter and measure full up and full down. If one was higher, I would remove some of the higher number by turning the turnbuckle...

    150-200cc Extra 300SP

Yes all 6 of the. Metal spinner backing plate to. I knew I should have rechecked the torque the night before as I try to stay in that habit but got lazy. Never had one come off before. So a mej spinner and 29x12x3 prop is lost forever in the woods. A lot of cost for not doing a periodic torque...

    IMAC Incidence Meters

Makes me wonder if it was the servos or the meter then. Mine has been really great to me.

    IMAC Incidence Meters

What servos were you using. I only ask because I set up a plane using a popular budget brand that is programable and I had similar experiences. In fact I would have to retrim from time to time. When I went to JR servos I never had that issue again. It is usually withing .1-.2 degrees every time.

    IMAC Incidence Meters

I have been using the H9 meter for a few years now. Being discontinued I wish I would have purchased a other one. The robart ones look like they would look good for setting up wings. I used my meter all the time for servo set up on dual or Tripple aileron/ elevator servo set ups. Makes setting...

    150-200cc Extra 300SP

If I didn't need to make a hole in the cowl I would have just tried the lips only. Just to see what it does. I have had great success in the past with very little cut outs. In fact a new cowl is on its way because my prop came off last night in the air. May try something small for the screw...

    PAU 120ccExtra

No problem. I had a smart fly board go bad and it caused my first 100cc plane to crash. Not a good day for me. Rich asked about that connection. So I thought I would bring it up. If anything anyone using smart fly boards can be aware of the power connections. It needs to go in a servo port.

    Trailer Alarm, and more...

If your trailer has brakes it should be pretty easy to install a relay powered by the alarm activation like for flashing lights or horn and wire it in via a relay to the brakes.

Tom, I'm not sure if it is one specific smartfly or all but he had a warning on the early Spectrum/JR recievers and not powering the reciever through the power or bind/data port. It was causing lock out issues.

    150-200cc Extra 300SP

For those following or even have other planes looking at baffling ideas. I think I have my combo. Straight duct to the front of the cylinders don't work that well. The right side did ok but the left was hitting 360f. So I added a semi curved plate behind the cylinders. Much better. Both...

    150-200cc Extra 300SP

So far I have 12 flights on the 123" extra. I think I have my CG where I want it and knife edge mix set. Still trying to get snaps dialed in. I have the hardest time with that on any plane. Getting closer. In the past I got the best looking snaps with a Mej 31x12 2 blade prop but I am limited by...
