    3D JAG's 35% Carden Edge

Yeah I think if it happens again it may take the entire motor box out. Yeah I still need to talk to quality control. The resin was applied a little sloppy but nothing a few hours of sanding can't fix. :oblong:

Oh and thanks to @capthis for the fiberglass repair work on my cowl as well. I don't have any pics of it yet, as I have not gotten to that yet.

Yup. Thanks @capthis for cutting my ply plate and hardwood tristock. I couldn't use the gear blocks, Had to go a little wider. The gear blocks and ply plate are epoxied in with loctite Hysol. And the balsa fillers were glued in with gorilla glue. It works great to fill the gaps in the foam. And...

Well since the damage wasn't to bad, I decided to just repair the wing plates with gorilla glue. Worked great. Just need to reaver the repaired areas.

    Power boards/expanders really needed?

Anyone know if Spektrum is working on a new series of power safe receivers? Seems like the AR12120 and AR9110 have both been on back order for a long time.

    Power boards/expanders really needed?

Interesting, good info. Thanks for sharing. My packs are LIFE and are rated at 30C, but who really knows.

    Power boards/expanders really needed?

@Terryscustom On the A123 packs you saw sag on, were the low C rated packs? I would think a high C rating, like a 30C rated pack, you would be less prone to sag. I would like to know based on your experience.

A friend has suggested taking out the wood in this shape and replacing it.

Yeah that's the plan at some point. But I want to fly the crap out of it for now.

Now on to repair this damage. Looks like it has been repaired before as well and not very well. Any suggestions on the best way to go about it?

Patches are glued in and a little wood filler added to make is smooth as can be. Still working on my repair skills.

Fixing a few damaged spots on one wing.

Yeah so true. It could have been much worse. Repairs are already under way. I need to pick up some hardwood block today. Also started repairing one wing. It got a puncture where a wheel pant entered it.

    Power boards/expanders really needed?

Yes a capacitor would I think only be necessary if the batteries cannot handle the instantaneous current draw. So with 5C, 2500's you should be good for around 25amps before the batteries can't keep up. And that is with a new pack.

    Power boards/expanders really needed?

Again I'm a newbie into RC planes, but have an industrial electrical background. What I don't like is running power through those switches. Looks like they only come with maybe 22AWG wire, which at best if it was 200C silicone would be good for around 13amps, which is a high estimate. That's...
