    3DHS and Extreme Flight Merger?

Same here. And by moving to one warehouse, computer, phone system, insurance plan, etc they can create some economies of scale. I think that adding the scale and warbird segment can open them up to a larger customer base that will demand quality customer service - so hopefully they will add...

    3DHS and Extreme Flight Merger?

They sure seem to be on the right track. Just wish they stocked replacement parts instead of having to rely on them ordering on the next container - could take 4+ months.

Man I feel bad for Xpress. I don't think spare parts are currently available for the 88" Yak since EF moved onto a new 91" Yak in 2013.

    Website Down?? - Business Shut??

Looks like their new website is up and running and likely currently still being built as the only thing currently listed are MVVS engines.

Discussion Advice from those in the know...

The 3700mah will be ok in the 60" EF Edge. I slightly prefer the slightly lighter 3300 packs but use both. I think 12S on the 3700mah packs may be a touch heavy for the smaller 70" class planes but might be alright on the slightly bigger 78" Extra, but I don't have any experience with that...

A generator will almost always be less expensive than a solar system. We are upgrading from a 50w 12v solar setup to a new 200w 24v + 12v setup using 8 deep cycle batteries for storage but we had a member able to free source the deep cycle batteries from commercial fire alarm systems (by code...

    48" and 78" Extra 300

I'm using an older Castle Phoenix HV85 with the Castle cap pack. I'm not running the Savox 1270 servos on the AJL but 1267s on the wings and 1268s on the tail but I'd go with the 1270s for the 78"er.

    48" and 78" Extra 300

I'd imagine that a 12s setup with a Motrolfly 4330-195kv with a 21x10 prop would put a smile on your face. I'm running the 4330-206kv on 12s with a 20x9 on a slightly smaller and lighter AJ Laser 73". I might try the 21x8 prop but not certain I want to sacrifice the speed. Savox 1270 servos...

    Blenderm tape and Welder glue

Welder carried by some big box home improvement stores or Amazon. Blenderm also rebranded as Dubro hinge tape. http://www.amazon.com/Oz-Welder-Professional-Adhesive-730657/dp/B005UJNH7E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1427892410&sr=8-1&keywords=welder+adhesive...

    Question? Lipo Bag?

Agreed! I have seen this video before and wonder if the bags I have are beneficial at all. So, I'd say the market would pay a reasonable price for a bag that is proven and supported by a reputable source to contain an overcharge fire.

50 degree weather in Indiana in early February, I'll take it. Saturday was a touch windy but workable with winds around 12-18mph. I was worried that Sunday my have been a lost cause because at noon winds wereh 18mph sustained wiht 25mph gusts but the winds died down at 3pm as predicted by...

FAA 2014-0396- interpretation of new rule for Model Aircraft

I agree that we need to move away from the word "drone" as it is loosely being used. Official Dictionary definition #2 of "drone" contains this key phrase " can navigate autonomously". Unfortunately if we keep using "drone" for basic multi rotor "model aircraft" we are likely to see...

    suppo 7035/8

Agree with the other posts. This motor is suited to a 50cc (perhaps 60cc) airframe. Has been used at least once on a 50cc airframe: http://www.GiantScaleNews.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67561

    suppo 7035/8

Not likely. 6600 watts at 12S = 150 amps which is the rated max amp draw on this motor.

    suppo 7035/8

Plugging that motor's info into the PAR calc with a 12S system (http://rcwebclub.com/PropEngine.aspx) estimates 6400 watts on a 25x10 prop with a 65mph pitch speed or 6800 watts on a 26x8 with a 55mph pitch speed. So, lets say 6400 watts / 250 watts per pound = suitable for up to ~ 25# plane...

    3DHS 75 Extra 300LT 6S or 8S setup?

I'm sure 8s will be slightly better than 6s, but if this builds up under 11 pounds, you will likely be ok with 6s. Don't know where the ARF weight is now versus the prototype but the prototype appeared to have sufficient power on 6s: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swlzPUkAPos
