IMAC First Carden 124" Extra 300 Pro Build

I love the RE3s on my DA170. 14" headers and 1200+ trouble free flights. More power than I really need on my 39# plane but it's there when I want it.

    motor mounts, aluminum is preferred....

Could just be my ignorance showing, but why couldn't someone offer the front and back plate and varying sizes of stand-offs to fit between the plates. The standoffs could be over drilled to allow for bolt passage. You could even offer 1/4" spacers to fine tune the installation. Maybe because it...

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

I flew Saturday and Sunday at the Wrightsville Ar. IMAC contest. Beautiful weather and a great weekend of competition with super friendly people.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

If we listed possible manufacturers alphabetically, I bet it would be at the bottom. :attaboy:

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

He was! He is kind of the "field pooch" and people take turns throwing his tennis ball for him. By the end of the day he is more than ready for a chair and a good nap.

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

We had a good crowd out Sunday and I finally got in some quality practice time for the Wrightsville IMAC next weekend. Blue skies, about 75 degrees and a light breeze.

Programing question for the Futaba experts

I still use a 10C. No servo speed programming but it does have sliders on either side of the case.

    DA170 Pipe Recommendations

Not sure if it's relevant but 14" is best for RE3s. You give up a tiny bit of power but have better transition (less peaky). I originally had my pipes on a DA150 with 11" headers. Very powerful but the pipes came on like a rocket booster.

The I'm NOT going out flying thread.

We had 20mph Sunday but it was straight down the runway so me and a buddy got out and flew three or four rounds. It can sure change when and where you add/take away power to keep your radius's consistent. Good practice.

    DA170 Pipe Recommendations

I didn't have to but I did at one point since I had them out anyway on an air frame change. I used a grill cleaner/degreaser that was discussed in a thread about this a few years ago. I think maybe Clorox made it. At any rate, it's not sold anymore. Cleaning them didn't produce any change and...

    DA170 Pipe Recommendations

I've been running a DA170 with RE3s and a 14" headers for over 1200 flights. Amazing power over the stock exhaust and smooth transition. I guess I'm just lucky after reading this thread.

IMAC Double Build, Carden Pro 124" Extra 300 40%

Cam, Will was the fellow in the video you sent me on covering the turtle deck. Will and his wife, Marian, were instructors at the two judging schools I attended at Clover Creek. If I am not mistaken, Marian judged full scale also.
